Happy Wednesday! It’s the first Wednesday of the month so I am linking up with Jennifer to share five things I am currently doing. I accidentally did the July prompts in June (oops!) but I have different answers this month. Check it out!

I am loving…

My new ice machine!! I love good ice and this nugget ice maker is fabulous!

I am savoring…

Together time!! Jeff is off all week and I am savoring all this time together! Even though summer is less busy than any other season, we are still going in a few different directions. This week has been great to have Jeff home for breakfast, at the pool during the day, and hanging out in the afternoons.

I am also savoring the fresh fruits and veggies that I am picking up in our CSA. The peaches this week were AMAZING!!

I am celebrating…

America, of course! We spent the whole day at the pool yesterday and sported our red, white, and blue!

I am remembering…

That it’s ok to stay in town and relax. We usually have at least one trip planned in July, but not this year. The kids each have a week of camp and I don’t have any quick little trips planned. Jeff keeps telling me that it is JUST FINE to stay home, relax, and enjoy our down time. It makes me a little antsy to think about it, but I think it will be good for us to get into a good summer routine and stay in town.

I am trying…

To stay on top of my coursework. I am a procrastinator and know I have the whole week to do all the work which does not bode well for me. I have two weeks left in my class and am setting the goal to have everything done before Sunday. The due date is Sunday at 11:59 pm.

I hope your July is starting off well! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I love how people think we are off in the summer but here you are doing a course. I have to figure out how to get all my professional development hours. Ugh!
I love your ice machine. I am the same as you. How do you feel on vacation while at home. Maybe take a week and do paper plates and more take out than normal or literally do not do any house chores. ha!

Oh yes, we love our nugget ice machine! I feel the same way you do about traveling/trips and my husband used to laugh at me when our boys were little and I’d talk about taking a summer vacation because he kept reminding me that our house IS like a summer vacation destination for most people. It took me years to get used to staying home all summer and taking trips other times of the year (and just when I got used to that Alec started school and we had to start traveling in the summer!).

I know it’s hard on teachers to get that summer work they have to get done each year! The friends I have around here who are teachers started their PD hours in June to try and get ahead. It’s never ending, right? I love all your pool days! I tried and tried to read on the beach last week, and failed every time because I couldn’t quit looking at the beautiful scenery. I don’t know if it would be any better at the pool. I would LOVE that ice machine! How wonderful is nugget ice?!

The rest of this week and next, we finally will all be home together and I can’t wait. This summer has been unlike any other. Your 4th looks fun! We didn’t make it to the pool…but maybe today.

I need to invest in a nugget ice machine! Maybe on prime day!!
Summer is quickly dwindling away, so enjoy all your rest time.

I hear you on remembering that it’s okay to just stay home and relax. I keep wanting to go away on the weekends but it’s just not practical. Hope you find the balance and enjoy the rest of your summer!

We LOVE our ice machine!!! And I’m trying to figure out how to be okay with a summer mostly at home, although we are spending two weeks at my parents’ house.
