Friday Favorites – 5/20/22

Happy Friday! This has been a whirlwind of a week and we are still going strong! After today we have 15 days of school left and the pool opens in 8 days. Fun countdowns are taking over. I have a bunch of favorites from the week to share with you. So let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: BOOKS!! I shared one of my favorite posts of the year on Monday! Summer Beach Reads! These are my favorite books to read so getting them all together in a list was perfection! Be sure to read it so you can start preordering and ordering them at your bookstore or reserving them at your library!!

If you are having trouble getting your hands on these books, check out my previous Summer Beach Reads lists for some more great books that might not be in such high demand.

I read Harry the Dirty Dog to kindergarteners today and decided to wear my Harry the Dirty Dog tshirt too. Well, I had no idea it was such a popular shirt! So many kids stopped me in the hallway or during bus dismissal to say they knew the book or loved the book. It was so fun and started a bunch of conversations between kids about books!

A kindergartener wrote a book for me this week! It was so sweet and I am going to display it in our library for the rest of the year!

My local bookstore hosted one of my favorite events on Tuesday night – the publisher’s book talk. Two reps from Penguin Random House shared books that they recommend. It’s held at a restaurant across the street from the book store and always a great time. I left with two books I can’t wait to read.

Favorite 2: CONCERTS!! Luke had his final band concert this week. He plays percussion and he was rocking the tambourine during Louie, Louie! He’s learned so much in two years!

Favorite 3: GOLF!! Jack finished up the Under Armour golf tour last weekend. He is continually improving and having more fun. I am looking forward to school ending and having more time on the course with him.

Jack is going to help with golf camps this summer. He’s been helping our neighbor in the backyard and it’s so cool to watch.

Favorite 4: GRAPEFRUIT BODY BUTTER!! I was so sad when my Trader Joe’s pulled the grapefruit body butter off the shelves. I only picked up three and that would surely not be enough to make it through the year. Luke and I were so surprised on Sunday when we went in a different TJs and found a whole shelf of it! I picked up a few more.

Favorite 5: SOCCER & LACROSSE!! Luke has been playing soccer and lacrosse this spring and he’s having a great time! He’s working hard and we hav fun watching him!

Favorite 6: FACETIME!! I am still loving my evening FaceTimes with Maggie! She’s so funny and we have the best dinner conversations. One night this week, I had to call a little early so Annie was still making diner. I ended up in the mixing bowls Maggie was playing with.

I didn’t get a picture, but I caught up with two of my college roommates on FaceTime this week too. We like to text, but it was great to see their faces and talk to them!

Favorite 7: WEATHER!! The sun has been shining and the weather is warming up. I am loving it! My hair is loving it too! Warm, humid weather is perfect for curly haired girls!

Favorite 8: END OF TESTING!! Both boys are finished their state testing and we celebrated with ice cream cones. Apparently I never let them get ice cream cones, only cups, so Luke’s request was to get a cone to celebrate.

This weekend is going to be a fun one. I have a meeting at the pool so we’ll spend a little time there tomorrow even though it’s not open yet. Luke has a lacrosse tournament on Saturday. Jeff has prom on Saturday night. Luke has a soccer game on Sunday. I am looking forward to all the sunshine! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
