Happy Friday! This has been a fun but busy week. I feel like I have been saying that a lot. This school year has been busier in a different way than ever before. We have 30 days of school left which feels so short and long at the same time. I’m sure it will fly! I have a bunch of favorites to share with you, so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: JACK!! Jack has always had a strong sense of his own style. This week he got a new putter and some sunglasses. Apparently, Goodr sunglasses are very cool for seventh graders right now!

I always like to take a look at the kids’ school work so I have an idea of what’s going on at school before it hits the online grade book. Jack has an essay to write recently and I did a little editing for him. He’s really growing as a writer and I’m so proud of him!
Favorite 2: LUKE!! This week Luke has been a building machine. He got a few Lego sets for his birthday and is working on them every day. He used to like when Jeff would build with him, then sit with him, and now he prefers to do it all solo.

Favorite 3: BARRINGTON!! I had a pretty good coupon and was looking to get a new bag and keychain from Barrington. Their bags are well made and hold up to my daily overstuffing! I thought these were fun for spring and summer! You can use this link to save 20%!

Favorite 4: LAST CHANCE!! I mentioned before that I am being pretty ruthless in my closet this year. I’m trying to wear everything I own and if something doesn’t feel great, it’s going in the donate pile. This shirt and sweater are old and got a last chance wear this week. They both made the cut and are back in my closet.

Favorite 5: GOLF!! I’m having so much fun on our weekly trips to the golf course! Luke joined us this week. We had a great time. I didn’t win any of our longest drive or target competitions, but I am improving. Jack gives me good tips when I ask for advice and its helping!

Favorite 6: SNOWBALL TREE! My parents have a bush/tree that blooms in the spring and smells heavenly! My mom called and told me it was blooming so I made time to swing by and enjoy it this week. Mom and I glided for a while, chatted, and smelled the glorious smell!!

Favorite 7: BOOKS!! I heard about Brilliant Maps for Curious Minds on a podcast and checked it out from the library. It is so cool! All four of us keep picking it up to discover new things!

I picked up the newest Cat Kid Comic Club this week for Luke and he is devouring it!

I am in the middle of Smells Like Tween Spirit by Laurie Gelman and it is spot on! Max, in the book, is the same age as Jack so I feel like she gets me!

Favorite 8: SUNSHINE!! The sun has been shining a bunch lately. Over the weekend it was so warm, but this week has been a little chillier. I couldn’t resist breaking out a dress!

Favorite 9: RUNNING! I have been doing a lot of walking and not much running. I decided that this was the week to change that and hopped on the treadmill. It was great! I do love running and its easy to forget that.

Monthly Musings – Vacations
I am looking forward to a weekend cheering on the boys and catching up on some things around the house. Luke has a soccer tournament. Jack has a golf tournament. Luke also has a lacrosse game. I am ready for the weather to warm up, but it doesn’t seem to be doing that. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

You described the year perfectly! I love the Mexican top!
You look adorable in that denim dress! I’ve been eyeing a Barrington tote for myself. I love all the patterns they have available.
I had no idea golf was so popular with young guys, but I recently learned that through my 20-year-old cousin. My dad only took up golf after he retired, and when he goes with the bros, they are all collecting social security! 😀
I love your outfits and your barrington choices! You and your mom have the same smile 😊 ❤️I didn’t know Laurie Gelman had another book. I’m adding it to my list now 🙂
Thanks!!
The book is so spot on in parts that I feel like she’s documenting our conversations with a 7th grade kid!
I just checked and my library doesn’t have it. 😩
