What’s Up Wednesday – 7/28/21

Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am linking up with Sheaffer and Shay to share what we’ve been up to. We’ve been busy so let’s get to it!

Monday – Jack and Jeff ate something from the fridge and Luke and I ate out because I had my pool board meeting
Tuesday – grilled chicken
Wednesday – shredded chicken
Thursday – at the golf course
Friday – grilling at the pool
Saturday – I have no idea! Summer Sarah can’t have it all together. 😉

Beach time!! We spent a few days on the beach last week with some friends. The kids had the best time! It’s pretty great for the parents, too.

We’ve all been running (run/walking) together this summer. We went to one of my favorite parks in Ocean City, Maryland and we’ve been running at our high school track.

The boys just finished their summer swim season. It was different because we only had 3 meets and they were virtual, but it was still really fun! Jack and Luke swam really well. They both swam in tough age groups with a bunch of friends. Jeff and I have a bunch of friends with kids on the team, too. That’s really what summer swim is all about!

NOTHING!! It is summer and I love it. I don’t go back to work until August 30th so I still have just over a month to have summer fun!

I need to take a class or two this year so I am working on finding the right class for me. I am not sure what I want to take. It is nice to be able to pick, though. All of the other classes I’ve taken have been prescribed by my master’s programs.

We are heading back to the beach and I am always excited about that!

Jeff and I are heading to a few concerts in the next couple months and I am really excited to get back to live music! It will be the first time I see all of these acts.

I have been watching one thing and one thing only – THE OLYMPICS!!! I love the Olympics so much so I’m watching everything available. The swimming is my favorite, of course, but I’ll watch every Olympic sport. We didn’t even go to the pool on Monday because we were watching Olympics all day (and doing some other things around the house). I shared my love of the Olympics a few years ago and it all still rings true!

I have been reading a bunch. My summer reading time allows me to read about two books a week and I love it. I find so many books I want to read with my Tuesday Book Release Day posts, that it feels impossible to read everything I want to.

Currently, I am listening to replays of Olympic events that I hadn’t watched yet. I’ve also been listening to a bunch of podcasts. I am enjoying The Mom Hour, The Girl Next Door, Smartless, Another Mother Runner, and What Should I Read Next podcasts. I don’t listen to all of them every week, but I like to scroll through the old ones and find something interesting.

I’ve been wearing a lot of bathing suits and exercise clothes. I’ve always said that my perfect summer day’s clothes are pjs, exercise clothes, bathing suit, pjs. I’ve had quite a few days like that recently and I love it! I am loving this new top from Title Nine this year.

I’m loving my summer jewelry! These limes are the best!

The sand dollars were so fun at the beach!

I’m loving my swim team dolphins!

How fun is my name necklace?

The pink starfish are pretty beachy! I have them in gold, too!

Sharks are my favorite animal. These earrings are perfect for shark week and summer!

I’ve been wearing my patriotic jewelry to support Team USA in the Olympics!

Don’t forget to use code SUNSHINEANDBOOKS10 to save on the whole Cora’s Den website. You may think I’m just putting this out here because I have a code, but every time I put on real clothes I am wearing something from Cora’s Den. I love it!!

As part of our Made to Move summer series, Jamie and I are running a half marathon in 3 parts. We’ll run 5 miles on Friday, a 5K on Saturday, and 5 miles on Sunday. Hopefully I can walk on Monday.

We have another Family Fun night at the pool on Friday night. Everyone had a lot of fun at the last one so we’re looking forward to that.

We have a whole month of summer break left! We haven’t done much on our Summer Fun list so I’m looking forward to having all that fun.

So far we’ve tried a new snowball stand and we will definitely go back!

The boys tried to surf in Ocean City.

And that’s it. We might try one more today, but we’ll see how the weather is. It is supposed to be hot and humid so we’ll see.

I always wait until August 1st to buy school supplies and I am looking forward to that. Even though we don’t go back to school for a while, buying school supplies brings me so much joy! I love pens, pencils, and stationary.

I love this post because I am so curious about what everyone is up to. If you need me between now and August 8th, I’ll be watching the Olympics. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

You’ve been reading some great books! I read 3 of those 4 this past month too and loved them. We also go back to school on the 30th and I have started to at least put together a list of what I need to buy. We were just talking about stopping in Ocean City on our drive to North Carolina as it’s a 1/2 way point (though I’m hoping we can make it further than that on our way down as I like to get most of the drive done on day one so day two is just a short stint in the car).

Ocean City, MD is one of my favorite places! I grew up going and we took our kids a few years ago and loved it just as much! Looks like you are having a great summer and enjoying it all!
