Happy Friday! We have had quite a week. The weather was amazing so we got to spend a ton of time outside – hooray! It has been a quick work week because we had Monday off and today is an early dismissal day. I have some favorites from the week so let’s get to them.

Favorite 1: PEEPS!! My mom and I took the boys to the Peep Show in our town. It is one of my favorite Easter traditions! We had a great time looking at all of the creations made with Peeps. They moved the Peep Show to the mall this year so they could spread out and have a covid-friendly one way traffic pattern. I thought they did a great job but we couldn’t go back and vote for our favorite entries like we usually do. This year your had to vote as you went. Every year I think “we should make an entry next year” and we never do. Maybe next year! My dad joined us for lunch afterwards, like he usually does, and we had a great afternoon.

Favorite 2: EGGS!! We always dye Easter eggs together and have a little competition to decide who decorates the best egg. This year I bought three different dye packs – neon, 24K gold, and marble. Honestly, I wouldn’t say that any of them were spectacular. The best part was the glue and glitter that came with the neon dye pack. I made the winning egg this year – gold paint/glue covered in glitter.

Favorite 3: BUNNIES!! I love a theme appetizer even if it turns out a little funny looking. I made my standard Easter veggies and dip. I also made a bunny cheese ball. I admit that they are funny looking and maybe a little creepy, but it’s all about getting into the spirit.

Favorite 4: POOL!! If you’ve been here for a summer, you know I love the pool! I am on the board and try to stop by to check on the pool grounds occasionally. I stopped by on Tuesday and it was so great. The cover is off and the grass is growing well. I can’t wait to be sitting poolside in only 50 days!!

Favorite 5: BOOKS!! I was planning on abandoning Grace and Steel because it was overdue at the library. I just couldn’t do it. I am really enjoying the book and am hoping to read a few hundred pages on our rainy weekend. I promise that I will return it if I don’t finish it soon.

Favorite 6: SUNSHINE!! The sun has been amazing this week! I’ve been catching sunrises and sunsets on my way to work and on our way home from practices. My work from home Wednesday lunch was extra lovely this week because of that fabulous sun! Our deck furniture wasn’t back on the deck yet so I pulled a beach chair out of the shed and relaxed while I ate and read.

Jack took a beach chair on the porch off the mud room and logged into a class or two to take advantage of the sunshine!

Favorite 7: EASTER!! We had the best Easter visiting both of our families. Luckily all 4 of our parents, Jeff’s grandmother, sister, and brother-in-law are vaccinated! The kids had an egg hunt and we had lunch outside with Jeff’s family. then we headed to my parents and enjoyed the porch and the deck before dinner. My mom made our favorite dinner – rib roast – and it was delicious!! She also made an amazing key lime pie, which is one of my favorites!!

Favorite 8: SILLY LUKE! Luke is so good about taking good family pictures but he almost always insists on silly pictures afterwards. I really do love his spirit!

Favorite 9: THE COUCH!! We’ve had this couch since we got married. It’s always been in the basement, but we moved it up to our new family room. The chaise lounge part of it is my favorite place to relax, curl up with a book, or take a nap. It’s just the perfect size and I am so excited to get comfy in our new room!

Favorite 10: GRASS!! Things are still moving along with our home improvement. The last of the lumber/supply yard materials are gone! There are no longer any building materials along the driveway! Everything is construction-wise is finished inside. We are only waiting on some more siding to finish the outside.

Favorite 11: ACCESSORIES! Wearing these bubblegum necklaces always brings a smile to my face. I love this turquoise one!

I also just got these sunglasses in the mail. I signed up to be notified when the brown tortoise shell is available. They are too cute!

Tuesday Book Release Day & Currently

Well, that was a supersized Friday Favorites! I wasn’t expecting that when I sat down to write this post. We have a double header for Jack on Sunday. I’m hoping to use the weekend to really set us up for a great week with a meal plan, grocery pickup, exercise plan, and some relaxing. I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
