Happy Wednesday! We really enjoyed our snow day yesterday! The boys played outside most of the day. Luke started to build an igloo with some friends in the neighborhood and Jack sledged his heart out. I enjoyed a slower start to the morning and got a bunch done around the house. It was perfect! I’m linking up with Anne today to share what else I am currently up to.

I am reading…
3 books right now. That is very unlike me. I tend to be a one book at a time girl. Right now I am reading two fiction books – 1 kids and 1 adult – and a nonfiction book.
I am loving…
The snow! Even though I am a summer girl through and through, the snow is beautiful. It has been snowing since Sunday, but hasn’t accumulated too much. The kids have been out playing for hours and hours. I took a little walk through the snow and cornfield to find the kids and loved the view.
I am remembering…
ARUBA! This time last year we were in Aruba and I was only worried about getting chairs and an umbrella in the front row on the beach.

I am sharing…
Our meal plan. I usually make a weekly dinner plan, but I am working on a lunch plan too. It makes the mornings go so much smoother. The kids always eat the same thing for school lunches, so I’m really focusing on what I’m eating. I’ve reached the point in the season where I’m running out of appetizing ideas for dinner. I’m hoping that in sharing my meal plan, some others will share what they are having so I can spice it up a bit.

I am wish listing…
All things house related! I am looking for a microwave/convection oven, big rug, comfy chair, picture/print for the wall, and a few table and floor lamps. We are building two new rooms onto our house – a mud room and a family room. The new family room is allowing a big furniture/room shuffle. The current family room will become the dining room. The current dining room will become the office. The current living room/office will become the library or the Lego room depending on who you ask. The couches from our current family room went to the basement and the couch from our basement will go in the new family room. The big comfy chairs in the current living room will go into the library. Sometimes Jeff and I get confused about what’s going where and when it’s moving.
Well that was fun! What are you currently up to? More importantly, what are you having for dinner this week??? Thank your for sharing! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Oh your house project sounds so exciting!!! I know it is a lot of work and chaos but it will be worth it 🙂
That’s what I keep telling myself!!
Those Aruba pics are amazing! We’ve had all meals via Mix and Match Mama this week…creamy tomato chicken pasta, king ranch joe casserole and a new one for me- saucy cranberry meatballs on rice (tomorrow) can’t wait
Isn’t it amazing how different it was a year ago? I want to read Coyote Sunrise!
I’m totally with you – summer is my thing, but the snow really is pretty. As long as we don’t have snow days… too much kid home already lately 😉
Ahh, Aruba looks great. I’ve been reminiscing about past warm weather vacations too, especially with a February anniversary, which we like to use as an excuse to take one. No Hawaii for our 15th this year, sadly…
Thanks for joining in!
We were in Aruba last January and LOVED it so I’m right there with you on “remembering.” That room shuffle sounds crazy but like it will be so worth it in the end.
On our menu plan this week is takeout pizza, top a potato, tuna noodle casserole, more take out, a tofu-vegetable stirfry and a curried tofu over rice dish. I don’t know that I have any brilliant ideas to help you out. For us the tofu replaces chicken so you could make both those dishes with that instead.
We love a great snow day, too! And it looks like y’all got alot of it! We actually got some snow here in January and it was just beautiful!
It really is beautiful!
Oh I just LOVED Coyote Sunrise; it made me cry (but in a good way). I too have been reading more than one book at a time which is so unlike me. I have been searching for a new living room set since November! I have yet to find one I like that I don’t just have to order sight unseen off the computer.
I don’t think I could order something like that online. I want to sit on it first, too!
Oh my goodness, I finished it last night and I cried so much. It was a good cry, but whoa it got me. I appreciate the warning that tears were coming!
Your house projects sound so fun!!! And it is so crazy to look back to this time last year, isn’t it? Enjoy the winter, you guys look so happy. 🙂 Especially for a summer person! 🙂
Thanks! I really try to look for the fun and stay positive, even in the freezing cold!
I’m not really a snow lover – but your kids (and you) really do look like you are loving the snow! Great photos! Then, of course, Aruba photos!?!? Bliss –
I often read more than one book at a time, but I try and switch up the genres or age levels like you are doing so I don’t get them all confused. hah

Your house project sounds like fun and a ton of work just shuffling furniture too. But a dedicated library/lego room will create envy among all who hear about it. I am planning on moving around accessories this winter so that by spring things look different. How far I can take that idea depends on how willing hubby is to rehang artwork in different places – so I may just be limited to knick knacks, etc. Good luck with it and Happy February.
