What’s Up Wednesday – 4/29/20

Happy Wednesday! I almost missed this link up because I keep losing track of what day it is. Even though I am working M-F, I still find myself saying, “Wait, what day is it?” I’m joining Shay and Sheaffer to share what’s up.

Saturday – Grilled Chicken
Sunday – Leftovers
Monday – Chicken and Mac & Cheese
Tuesday – Taco Tuesday
Wednesday – Chesseburger Casserole
Thursday – Taquitos
Friday – Pizza
I am trying to keep it interesting but it’s getting tough! I’ve made so many dinners since March 14th!!

Going places!! Seeing my friends’ entire faces if I see them at the grocery store!! Watching my kids play sports!!

I am loving all this extra time with my family, well just the 4 of us. It has been so nice to slow down, I mean slow waaaaay down. We are eating dinner together every night. We are reading together. We are playing more games together. We have so much more quality time together.

Same thing as everyone else, not much. We’ve been learning at our dining room table every morning and playing outside every afternoon. Jeff and I are taking midday walks together every day and it’s like we’re on a date every day!
I shared our day on my Instagram stories yesterday (@sunnyscp). I’ll share it here one day next week. I wanted to capture what a quarantine day is like.

I am dreading the day they tell us schools are closed for the rest of the year.
I am dreading going to the grocery store this week with my mask and gloves on.
I am dreading another windy or rainy day. We need some warm sunshine around here!

I am learning about Minecraft Edu this week. Last week I learned how to use Screencastify and all about Epic books. In the weeks before that, I was working on Google Classroom and how to use it in a surprise school closing with teachers that have ZERO training. Side note – I am so proud of the teachers I work with and that teach my kids. They have jumped in with two feet and are doing an AMAZING job!! ❤️
I am working on the Crush Your Core 4 week challenge. I had a few workout partners this week.

The weather looks pretty good in the next few weeks. Sunny and warm!
There are so many great books coming out in the next two months for summer and I can’t wait to read, review, and share them with you!

Our wonderful Governor Hogan has a plan for our state. His Maryland Strong Roadmap For Recovery gives me hope that we will be able to start getting back to a little bit of normal in the coming months. #lovethegov

I’ve been doing a lot of bookish watching! I watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix this weekend and it was super! I remember loving the book and the movie was just as great!
I’ve been watching Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu and it is good too! I thought the book was ok, but I’m enjoying the show so much more!

I’ve been reading a bunch lately! I’ve read two books that came out yesterday and I loved them both! Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey and The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan. If you need a book to read, go get one of those! It would probably be best if you got them from an independent bookstore, in my opinion.

I read It Started With a Secret by Jill Mansell and it was a great, light hearted read too!

I read 500 Miles From You by Jenny Colgan. I loved it! It doesn’t come out until June 9, but that’s ok. It is the third book in the Scottish Bookshop series. Between now and June 9th, if you haven’t read The Bookshop on the Corner or The Bookshop on the Shore, you need to get reading. They are lovely stories about wonderful characters set in a town that makes you want to travel to Scotland. Get reading!

I’ve listened to a ton of episodes of What Should I Read Next podcast. I’ve heard about so many great books that are new to me.
I started listening to my first episode of The Satellite Sisters podcast by Lian Dolan and her sisters.

We’ve had a bunch of Jonas Brothers dance parties lately. I love how catchy What A Man Gotta Do is. It’s so fun!

Leggings, leggings, and more leggings. Aside from putting my work pants on to make sure they still fit a few time, I have not worn anything that buttoned since March 13. I’ve been wearing sweatshirts, tank tops, and quarter zips with those leggings. My athleisure game is on point and this is my time to shine. 😉 My number one goal is comfy these days. I’m not a girl who needs to put on work/real clothes to have a productive day. I always say I do my best work when I am my comfiest.

More of the same. Staying home. Hanging out with my family. Loading and emptying the dishwasher a bunch. Reading. Hopefully spending a ton of time outside.

I can’t wait to hug my parents and my friends. I am looking forward to grocery shelves that are not empty. I am looking forward to summer books and reading. I am looking forward to planting our garden next month. I am looking forward to the May sunshine.

I can’t wait to hear what you are up to. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I should totally be trying my work pants on from time to time. I trust that I will need them again eventually…!

Also, I could have written your “What I’m dreading” paragraph. Same here. Same here.

And YAY for a new Jenny Colgan! Whooo hooo!!!
