Friday Favorites – 2/14/20

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I hope you are comfy because I have a long list of favorites for you today!! I’m linking up with Narci and the girls, as usual.

Favorite 1: VALENTINE’S DAY!! I have been loving EVERY SINGLE THING about the fun jewelry I’ve gotten from Cora’s Den. These earrings are just too cute and go perfectly with all of my Valentine’s Day gear.

We always give our boys book for Valentine’s Day. I may have gone a little overboard this year, but I couldn’t hold myself back. I know they are going to love these books!

My valentine is my biggest favorite! He works most Valentine’s Days but we find other days to enjoy each other’s company! ♥️

Tonight, Jack will be spending Valentine’s Day with his one true love – sports. 😂 We are headed to our local high school basketball game. They are playing their big rivals, the other high school in our town, so it should be fun!!

Favorite 2: NAILS!! I have been getting gel manicures for the past few months. I love how it always looks nice and I don’t have to worry about chipping or peeling. However, I do like to give my nails a break sometimes so I am back to regular polish. This color was so perfect, until I chipped 8 nails in 48 hours.

I tried Color Street for the first time this week. They are nail polish stickers. It was so weird because when I opened the package, it smelled like regular nail polish. I didn’t do a perfect job of applying it, but I’m still pretty satisfied with how it looks.

Favorite 3: MAC AND CHEESE BITES!! We picked these up at Trader Joe’s a few weeks ago but hadn’t tried them. The boys were starving for a little snack so I popped them in the oven. They are definitely not the most healthy snack but they are super delicious!!

Favorite 4: SEAL STITCHERY!! My friend Allyson has a logowear/embroidery/screen printing business and I love it! She is so helpful and has incredible ideas for anything I ask her to design. I turn the big 4-0 this year and I have quite a few trips planned, some domestic and some abroad. I have deemed these trips “Sarah’s 40th Birthday World Tour” and decided to have a few tank tops made for my travels. Allyson came up with the cutest logo and had the tanks made up so quickly!! She even gifted me this perfect traveling bag!! 😍

Favorite 5: MAIL!! I got the invitation to my sister’s wedding this week! I am so excited!! And how beautiful is the liner!! Swoon!!!

Favorite 6: ARUBA!!! Here it is! The beginning of our Aruba trip. We left EARLY on Thursday morning, on the road by 5 am. The sunrise was so beautiful as we were sitting in the airport waiting for our flight. It was tricky to capture because of the glare, but you get the idea. Kourtni made all the girls goody bags to start the fun! And then we learned on the plane that you can’t drink your own airplane bottles of vodka. Oopsie daisy! I finished The Confessions Club by Elizabeth Berg right before we landed – oh it was so good!! We landed in Aruba and were through customs so quickly. It was amazing. We grabbed our luggage, hopped in a taxi, and were at the resort in no time. Door to door it was 7 or 8 hours, I am still not sure because of the time change. 😉

Our room wasn’t ready when we got there, but they held our luggage and we changed into bathing suits and hit the pool. The pool we found had these great lounging cushions and it was only ankle deep, perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun. There was also a DJ playing poolside and waitresses bringing all the drinks. It was so wonderful. Here’s what I learned about Aruba – it is always 85 and sunny with a lovely breeze. Could that get any better???

After we got into our rooms and made dinner reservations, we hit the beach. Oh my this beach was good!! Powder white sand beaches and beautiful blue water. 😍

We stayed on the beach to watch the sun set and snapped a few pictures before changing and getting ready for dinner. Our reservations were at the fine dining restaurant and it was very tasty. I will say the highlight of the meal was dessert. This dessert had us laughing uncontrollably. You could even say we made a scene in the restaurant with the 8 of us laughing so hard. I couldn’t even eat my dessert because I was crying laughing for the entire dessert course. The dessert, the comments, comments from the waitress, and then a few more comments had me rolling!!

We headed out to the bar where there was live music for a bit, but ended up calling it a night around midnight because it had been a long travel day.

Be on the lookout Monday for the rest of our Aruba trip recap. ☀️

Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!! Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Hey girl—have you tried the Essie gel nail polish? No base coat needed, two coats of polish and then the gel coat top coat. No light needed. It’s all I use now. I find it last 7 to 10 days.

    Have a Good weekend
