Friday Favorites – 12/13/19

Hello Friday, I am so happy to see you!! Between that massive full moon, Friday the 13th, and Santa on the horizon, life at an elementary school has been something. This week has been pretty productive but I feel like I can’t quite see the end of my to do list. ‘Tis the season… I’m linking up with Narci and the girls to share my favorites.

Favorite 1: BOOKS!! I have been reading a ton lately! I’m reading my sixth Christmas book right now and loving every minute. Most Christmas books have such happy endings that they bring me so much joy! Check them out and be sure to read to the bottom to see some of my favorite Christmas books of all time.

Favorite 2: SPORTS!! Luke kicked off his travel basketball season last weekend and he had a great time!! Jack went to his first travel swim meet last weekend and he had a great time! Both boys did so well and it was a blast to watch!

Favorite 3: TRAINS!! We had wooden trains for the longest time. The boys would play with them off and on for 8 or 9 years. We’ve had train birthday parties, gone to Day out with Thomas, and stopped to watch the train come through our town more times than I can count. When Luke and I were running errands last night and saw a train garden at a fire station, we had to stop in. He had the best time looking at all the details and watching all the near crashes at the intersections.

Favorite 4: HOLIDAY CHALLENGE!! This is a little bit of a different favorite. I love the accountability and motivation this challenge is giving me, but I am pretty tired. Our evenings have been busy so I am trying to get my exercise done in the morning. 4:45 is coming pretty early! I’ve been moving my body for 30 minutes every single day. It’s not too late to join me! Move with me!

Favorite 5: PARTIES!! I didn’t take many pictures but we had a great time at a holiday party on Saturday night. Getting together without the kiddos is always a nice change. We all dressed up and had the best time!

Favorite 6: CORA’S DEN!! My saying of late is “another season, another Cora’s Den necklace.” I love these necklaces! They are so fun and festive!

Favorite 7: NATIVITY!! We try to get to the Drive Through Nativity at a local church every year because it is such a lovely way to celebrate the season. The kids get in their pjs with cozy blankets and we hop in the line. The youth group gives out cookies and hot chocolate at the beginning and we drive through the different places leading up to the Nativity. I look forward to this Christmas tradition every year.

Have a great weekend! My sister and her fiancé are coming to town so we are looking forward to spending lots of time with them. Of course we have a few basketball games and practices to throw into the weekend, but we are going to make time for lots of Christmasy fun! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

There is something so fascinating about watching model train sets! We used to have a place near us that was loaded with all sorts of train sets and I can remember my father taking my sister and I there a few times each year just to wander around.
