Friday Favorites – 6/7/19

Happy Friday! June Fridays are my favorite because they mean sunshine, pool days, and fun! We are still in school, but we are coming down the homestretch. I am linking up with the Friday Favorite girls to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: BOOKSTORES!! I love my local independent bookstore, A Likely Story. Debbie, the owner, is a complete super star. She continues to bring bigger and better things to our town and schools. This week I set up an author visit for next school year, learned about a bunch of new books, and met an author I’ve been reading for 20+ years – Jane Green!! She was so funny and fabulous! She cried a little, we all laughed, and her stories led her to make us promise to never tell anyone what we talked about. She raved about libraries and librarians ❤️, shared her favorite authors, and made me so excited to read her new book, The Friends We Keep.

Favorite 2: HEADMASTERS!! Our Main Street has a great salon for men where the boys get their haircut. This week, they both asked for a shampoo and Miss Gisselle delivered. They got hot towels on their faces, massage chairs, and a relaxing shampoo. It was so cute!

Favorite 3: RUNNING! I am on track to feel good after running 9 miles on June 19 for the 900th day in my run streak. I had to break up some of my longer distances lately, but right now I am just happy to cover the miles. On Tuesday, I was so parched and tired after running that I dashed through the Royal Farms, picked up a coke, and ran my last .14 miles carrying the cup. Nothing stopped me from getting my 7 miles in that day.Favorite 4: BASEBALL!! Jack had a great game on Tuesday and Thursday this week. They played the same team twice and beat them both times! Favorite 5: SWIM TEAM!! Our summer swim team practices started this week and it was great to be back at the pool watching the kiddos get started. Our summer swim season runs through July and concurrently with the year round swim team. The boys will do some of each practice throughout the summer. Those are my favorites for the week! I hope everyone has a great weekend full of sunshine and books! We have a birthday party, movie night, and 3 baseball games this weekend. I am hoping to get some poolside reading time, too!

OMG love it. My friend Lisa just moved down to your area from NH. I think she was at the same book signing you were! She has a boot on her leg right now- she can still tumble like she is a high school gymnastics star 🙂 If you see her, say Hi! Have a wonderful weekend Sarah!

I met her!!! We were talking about how much I love A Likely Story. Small world! I actually said, “you look familiar” and she replied “I just moved here” so that makes perfect sense. She was lovely.

That looks like a great book; just requested it from our local library. I am so jealous of all the authors you get to meet!!
