Show Your Books – 5/14/19

Happy Tuesday! Here comes a late night blog post sharing one of my very favorite things – BOOKS!! I’ve been reading a bunch and found some that I really enjoyed. That’s what I am going to share with you now.

But before I do, I want to share a little struggle I am having. It’s nothing big and I’d love your opinion in the comments. I shared my Summer Beach Reads last week. These are my most favorite authors and my favorite books to read. Last Tuesday, Kristy Woodson Harvey, Jamie Brenner, and Mary Kay Andrews released their books. Wendy Wax’s book was released today. So here’s the dilemma – Do I read the books as they come out or do I wait until I am finished working and enjoy them all summer? I usually try to wait to read them when I finish working, but this year it seems a little harder to wait. And to be honest, I’ve read a few of the books. I had to so I could post the reviews. But what should I do about the rest? Read them or wait??? It’s just so hard to decide. Help!!!!

Ok, on to the books. I listened to Yes, Please by Amy Poehler. I loved it. I particularly enjoyed hearing Amy read it to me. I think she is hilarious and the way she read it was perfect. I have friends that read the book and thought it was ok, but friends who listened to it thought it was fabulous. I loved how honest Amy seemed throughout the whole book. I loved hearing about her time on SNL and Parks and Rec. I enjoyed hearing about her friendships and relationships. If you are going to read it, I recommend listening to it. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

I also just read The Mother-In-Law by Sally Hepworth. It was soooo good!! This was the first book I read by Sally Hepworth and I can’t wait to read her other books. It’s suspenseful without being scary. I love that any of the characters could be the one that had something to do with the death of the mother-in-law. Each chapter had me guessing that someone else was responsible. Go read it! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

I also read The Husband Hour by Jamie Brenner. I loved Jamie’s book The Forever Summer and was really looking forward to this one. I was not let down! The Husband Hour tells the story of a young widow trying to find her place in the world after her famous hockey playing husband passes away. She is trying to navigate family, friends, work, and her brand new situation. I could feel Lauren’s grief and frustrations like she was my best friend. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read Jamie’s new book, Drawing Home, which came out last Tuesday. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

Check out my Books 2019 page for all of the books I’ve read this year. There are a bunch of 4 ☀️ books on there that I enjoyed. Don’t forget to tell me what to do about those Summer Beach Reads because I just don’t know what to do!

Linking up with Steph and Jana for Show Us Your Books.

Have a great night full of sunshine and books!
