Hello Monday – 7/9/19

Hello and happy Monday! I am joining Heather, Lindsay, Johannah to share our weekend fun.

Jeff and I have been talking about starting a new tradition of visiting a new baseball park each year.  We decided that this was the year to start.  Jack LOVES everything about baseball and Luke is always excited to go somewhere new. The Nationals are our second closest team so Nationals Park is our first ball park to visit.

Friday night was Bryce Howard patriotic bobblehead night so we were excited to get there early.  As we arrived, the presidents were walking right by us so the boys got to high five them and get pictures with them.

After meeting the presidents and walking around a bit, we grabbed some dinner and headed to our seats.  We had great seats, just beyond the dugout on the first base side.

After the 4th inning, the giant presidents race around the warning track and then go out into the concourse for a photo op.  The line was super short so we decided to have a family picture with the presidents and the Geico gecko.

One of the boys’ favorite things to do at a baseball game is to get helmet ice creams.  We have a stack of Oriole helmets that they eat snacks out of at home. Jeff surprised them with Nats’ helmet ice cream at the game.

The sunset was incredible from our seats. Mother Nature was really putting on a brilliant show!

Jack and Luke had a great time and are already discussing where we should go next year!

Saturday morning was another swim meet morning. I got up early to get our tent set up at the pool and get a run in before the kids had to be there. At this point, Mother Nature was just showing off.  The sunrise was incredible, too!

Jack and Luke had great swims at the meet.  We all had a lot of fun too! My parents and Jeff’s mom came to cheer on the boys.  Saturday was supposed to be amazing weather so we planned to stay at the pool all day. The weather forecasters were exactly correct. Saturday was low humidity, warm, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.  We had a great pool day.

On Saturday evening we went to a patriotic party at on the Chairs’ Party Patio.  It was a great time with yummy food, great friends, and tons of red, white, and blue! I opted for a new top from the loft, shorts from J.Crew outlet, my new earrings from the 4th of July mystery mailer, and my big red beads from etsy.

The kids tried sparklers for the first time and loved them!!

Jack woke up on Sunday and wanted pancakes for breakfast.  He decided that this was going to be the morning he learned how to make pancakes. He did a great job and I am pretty sure he’ll be back in the kitchen to help me soon.

Sunday’s weather was just like Saturday – beautiful.  Jeff took the Jack to the driving range in the morning while Luke and I took care of some things around the house. Then Jeff took the boys to the pool and I ran to the pool to keep the streak alive (day 554). It was just so nice that we stayed at the pool until 7:30. Seven and a half hours of swimming and playing meant that our boys were showered and sound asleep by 8:15.  It was the perfect way to end our weekend!

Jack is headed to basketball camp this week with some buddies and Luke is headed to golf camp in the mornings with one of his buddies.  I can’t wait to get my runs in without too many time constraints, some uninterrupted reading, and fun afternoons with Luke!

I hope you have a great week full of sunshine and books!

What a fun idea for a challenge! I’ve only ever seen ballparks in Philadelphia and Baltimore, but it would be so cool to add more to the list! And what a gorgeous sunset!
