What’s Up Wednesday

I am joining in with these 3 ladies, Mel, Shay, and Sheaffer to chat about what is going on with the Parsons.  I’ll answer the following questions to share some fun happenings.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

What we’re eating this week…

This week has a tasty menu with new places to eat.

Monday – grab a quick bite, Tuesday – The Salty Dog in Hilton Head (hush puppies!!!), Wednesday – Mellow Mushroom pizza, Thursday – TURKEY!, Friday – probably pizza again since we get home mid-afternoon, Saturday – Jeff’s mom’s home spaghetti and meatballs

What I’m reminiscing about…

I just got rid of our play kitchen and everything that went along with it.  It was definitely time because no one has played with it in almost a year. But I am reminiscing about these cuties that spent hours preparing delicious feasts for us.IMG_4934.jpg

What I’m loving…

Hanging out with my sister!!

The weather in South Carolina! My toes were in the ocean in November and the boys played in the ocean for over an hour today!!

What we’ve been up to…

The Book Fair just ended at school.  It is so wonderful, but I truly think there is no tired like Book Fair tired!IMG_4861.jpg

We are visiting my sister in Hilton Head and having a great Thanksgiving with my parents and Annie!

What I’m dreading…

I’m not really dreading anything right now.

What I’m working on…

I’m picking the next book for Dino Readers, our whole school reading program. It’s a challenge to pick a book that works for kindergartners and fifth graders but it is so fun!  We read The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney and Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White last year and the year before.

What I’m excited about…

I am looking forward to running a Turkey Trot with my sister, mom, and kiddos. I love getting up and moving and then coming home to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and eating sticky buns.

Jeff and I are going to Atlanta for a one day whirlwind trip to see the Falcons play.

I can’t wait for all of the fun Christmas parties coming up.  We’ll see so many different groups of friends and share some Christmas cheer.

What I’m watching/reading…

I am watching every Hallmark movie I can get my hands on, starting Friday. I won’t watch one until the turkey dishes are cleaned up, but then watch out. Hallmark, here I come!

I’m reading The Secret Life of Violet Grant by Beatriz Williams. Next up are The Fifth Letter by Nicola Moriarty and The Nightengale by Kristin Hannah. I just finished Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple and Class Mom by Laurie Gelman.

What I’m listening to…

I’ve been loving the Fall Happy Hour playlist on Amazon. Its chill but upbeat and the perfect soundtrack to our afternoons.  Starting Friday, it will be all Christmas music all the time!

What I’m wearing…

I’m rocking my flip flop she in this great weather! I found a cozy cardigan that I said seriously soft and has thumb holes and pockets.  I keep finding ways to incorporate it into my weekly wardrobe

What I’m doing this weekend…

This weekend we are visiting with my inlaws and decorating for Christmas. I’ll need to get caught up after being away this week, so I envision a grocery store trip tucked in between the basketball practices and Hallmark movies.

What I’m looking forward to next month…

Oh, I cannot wait for Christmas! I love the cozy lights, reading by the tree, all of the fun traditions, and that whole week off at the end to soak up some good family time.

What else is new…

My oldest son, Jack, just got braces.  He already has an upper and lower expander and had more dental impressions that any one kid should this summer so braces have been easy peasy.  He’s a trooper and smiling away with his red and blue braces!IMG_4909.jpg
