Wednesday Hodgepodge – 2/25/26

Happy Wednesday! I am joining Joyce for a quick hodgepodge of questions. These five questions are going to be fun, so let’s get to it!

1. America celebrates turning 250 years old this year. Primary cities set to lead the celebrations on July 4th are Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington D.C. Other significant locations for celebrating will be Charleston SC and the ‘historic triangle’ which includes Jamestown-Willimasburg-Yorktown Virginia.  Of the cities listed how many have you seen in person? Of the cities listed which would you most like to visit this year? Any plans to do so? What’s one place in America you think everyone should see? If you’re not American what’s one place in the US you’d like to see?
I have been to all of those cities listed. I am going to visit Charleston, SC soon but not for the 250th birthday. We will probably go to Washington DC this year too because it is so close. I think Washington DC and Philadelphia are important cities because there is so much history there. There are a lot of fun ways to learn and appreciate the history of America.

2. Three sounds you love to hear?

3. Three sounds you hate to hear?

4. February 24th is/was National Tortilla Chip Day. Are you a fan? With salsa, guacamole, queso, or just plain please? Do you like nachos? With what on top? Is there anything (besides nachos) you make that calls for tortilla chips?
I LOVE TORTILLA CHIPS!! I like them plain, with salsa, with queso, with guacamole, with sour cream, with beef, with chicken, with avocado, with melted cheese or shredded cold cheese, with tomatoes, with black or refried beans. I love them! My favorites are Torti-yahs. The regular flavor and lime flavor are my favorites. They are the perfect sturdiness for dipping but don’t get too thick. We use tortillas with a taco/buritto bowl, buffalo chicken dip, spinach artichoke dip, tortilla soup, and chili (if we’re out of Fritos).

5. We March into March with next week’s Hodgepodge…what’s one thing on your March calendar that makes you smile?
Before I answer, I would like to say whoa, February is flying by! I have quite a few things on my March calendar that make me smile. Luke has two championship swim meets. Jack’s golf season is starting. We are going someplace that should be warm. Jack’s birthday. Spring forward means we’ll have more daylight in the evenings to enjoy.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Hopefully we had our last snow day of the year on Monday. I decided to make it a good balance of productive and relaxing. Instead of making my usual To Do list, I made a Ta Da list to celebrate all the things I got done. Here it is:

That was fun! I can’t wait to see what everyone else answered! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
