Happy Friday! What a week! Most of our days looked pretty similar this week, but I still have some favorites for you. Let’s get to them…
Favorite 1: SNOW DAYS!! Part A – SNOW DAY SIGNAL!! We had a door/hallway decorating competition at school in 2018 and I bought this projector for the small hallway leading into the media center. After the competition was over, I brought it home and decided to shine it down the hallway towards the boys’ room when we had a snow day or two hour delay. Fast forward 8 years and I’m still using it! The projector I bought isn’t available anymore but this one is similar.
Part B – SNOW DAY SWEATSHIRT!! My mom got this for me and Thursday was the perfect day for it! This is the true definition of a snow day! Thanks Mom!!
Favorite 2: TODAY!! I leave for work by 7 am and listen to the first few minutes of the Today show on the radio as I drive to work. I have been lounging on the couch in my pjs with my electric blanket (similar) and watched all three hours. I am loving it! What a gift to be home to watch Al’s 30th anniversary show, too!
Favorite 3: DINNER!! Making dinner every night is not usually a favorite, but this week I’ve loved it. I was able to get all the ingredients I needed before the snow came, I had a new recipe to try, and we didn’t lose power. Wins all around. We had meatball subs on Sunday, chili on Monday, leftovers on Tuesday (egg casserole, chili, meatballs, and pizza), and sheet pan fajitas on Wednesday. I made 3 lbs of chicken and added another pepper to the fajitas recipe so we would have leftovers for lunch. I loved the lime! We all sat down together this week which makes dinner a bigger favorite.
Favorite 4: SNOW!! This theme of this week was snow! We shoveled and salted on Sunday and Monday. That meant that we could enjoy the snow the rest of the week. It was great! Luke spent a ton of time outside, even though it was freezing. Jack was out for a little while and met up with friends. The snow was beautiful when it was falling on Sunday and I am loving looking out to the sun reflecting off the snow from our family room.
Favorite 5: BOOKS!! I have been reading up a storm over here! I read two books for fun, I have been reading and reviewing books on our public library’s summer reading lists for kids, I brought a bunch of books home from school that I needed to read on my work day. It has been so wonderful!
Favorite 6: STRAWBERRIES!! Plant City, Florida has the absolute best strawberries in the world. I always get excited when Plant City strawberries start rolling into our grocery stores. I found some beautiful strawberries on Thursday and it made me smile!! They are so yummy!
Favorite 7: HANGING RACK!! I ordered this rack this fall when the boys were both wearing dress shirts and we needed more space to hang dry things. Jeff had the brilliant idea to bring it up to the mud room to hang snow clothes to dry. It was perfect!

Monthly Musings
I am headed back to work today with a two hour delay. Hopefully easing in to the week with one day isn’t too rough. Luke has his last high school swim meet of the season on Saturday. I am not sure what we are going to do on Sunday. I made a big to do list for Thursday that I did not even come close to finishing, so I might tackle a few things on that list. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
