Happy Thursday! It’s the last Thursday of the month so I am linking up with Patty to answer 10 fun seasonal questions. I love thinking about my answers and seeing everyone else’s answers, too!

This month we are talking about winter fun and Valentine’s Day.

1-Describe your winter so far in one word. COLD! The weather in Maryland got cold quick and hasn’t let up. I’ve been home all week for 3 snow days and 1 work from home day and Al Roker has been telling us each morning that the cold is not letting up!
2-What winter activities have you never tried but want to? I am not really a winter activities girl, but if I had to pick one it would be snow shoeing. It seems like a good workout and a good way to spend some time in winter nature.
3-Favorite winter beverage? I don’t change my daily beverages in the winter. I do tend to drink more red wine in the winter than in the summer. I enjoy an occasional hot chocolate, too.
4-Least favorite winter chore? I don’t really have a least favorite winter chore.
5-Soup or chili? Share a recipe if you would like. I like both soup and chili but I am pretty picky about them. I don’t like kidney beans in my chili. I like soup but I don’t always feel full or satisfied after eating it. I think I like to chew a meal. I made chili on Monday night and it was delicious. I tend to make my chili with a mexican flavor. I don’t have an official recipe, but I use ground chicken, a can of diced tomatoes, a can of Rotel, super sweet corn, and black beans. For spices I use salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, minced dried onions, and a dash of cayenne pepper. I honestly have no idea how much of each I use, but Monday’s chili was so delicious!
6-Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, both, or neither? Milk chocolate all the way.
7-Share your galentines or Valentine’s Day plans. I do not usually make Galentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day plans. I’ll probably make some heart shaped food or something we all love. It’s a Saturday this year so that’s extra fun!
8-Do you dress festive for Valentine’s Day? I sure do! I haven’t worn much this year so enjoy some old pics with my festive outfits.

9-Do you make any sweet treats for Valentine’s Day? I don’t usually make sweet treats, but I do buy them. All four of us love Reese’s hearts. I love the Sweetart conversation hearts, but not the other kids. I am not a big fan of the chocolate boxes because there are too many pieces or flavors that I don’t think are worth the calories.
10-What is your love language? You know, I am not sure. I took the quiz a few years ago, but I can’t remember exactly how my results turned out. I think it was acts of service, but I’m not sure. I do feel appreciated when someone takes something off my plate without me asking. I think my second was gifts. Who doesn’t love a gift? 😉
That was fun! I am off to have a productive snow day. I made a long list of things that I have wanted to do for a while. We’ll see how much I can get done. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I love the candy conversation hearts too. You knock it out of the park with the festive outfits…all so fun!
Your festive outfits are all so cute! I don’t know that any of my boys have ever had Reece’s hearts. I also don’t really like the boxes of chocolates and would rather have a favorite bag of Lindt chocolates or ghiradelli squares in a flavor I really enjoy than have the variety in a heart shaped box.
Ghirardelli squares are so yummy! I haven’t gotten them for Valentine’s Day before, but I might this year!
Shaped Reeses taste so much better than the regular ones! I mean I love those too, but the holiday shapes are so much better!
They really are the best!!
I know! It’s so cold in the DMV right now and I am already over it. I love your festive Valentine’s outfits Sarah. Thanks for being part of Monthly Musings each month.
I love all of your heart themed outfits! I plan on making chili tomorrow since we have a few more days of this intense cold. Stay warm!
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE….your outfits!!!!!
I agree with you about kidney beans – that’s one of the few beans I really dislike, and I never put them in my chili. I make my chili with black, great northern, and pinto or red beans. And my recipe mostly lives in my head and I don’t know exactly how much of the seasonings I use.
All your hearts and valentine themed outfits are so cute!
Hope you’re staying warm and cozy!
It’s been extra cold here too. I’m ready for some warmth (or at least a little less cold!).
