Happy Wednesday! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Jennifer to share five things I am currently doing. Each month we share five different things and I think it’s a fun way to think about what’s going on.

I am loving…

Seeing my summer friends! My pool friends are always my friends, but I get to see them so much more in the summer and I love it.

My college roommates. I got to see Amy last weekend and I’ve been texting with Val every single day. We are doing a Peloton summer streak and holding each other accountable.

Swimming again. I swam laps two Sunday mornings in a row and it is hard, but a good hard! I am hoping to be back in the pool this Sunday morning.

I am savoring…

A thundering, rainy afternoon. I would be sad if we had them more often in the summer, but sometimes I need a stay home, stay inside rainy afternoon. Yesterday we left the pool at 2:30 and I savored the afternoon at home. I put my laundry away and it had been a while! I watched two episodes of The Four Seasons and wrote this blog post. It felt good to be productive in an unrushed way.

Time in the car. I am spending a lot of time in the car this summer. I am savoring the few times that I am driving Jack and we can talk. He’s a funny kid. We are coaching together this summer and it is fun to have a different balance in our relationship. I am savoring the times that I have Jack and friends in the car, too. His friends are starting to get their licenses so this isn’t going to happen forever. I am listening to Big Dumb Eyes by Nate Bargatze in the car and it’s enjoyable. I am savoring my time with Luke, too. He has a bunch of friends at the pool and is off with them as soon as we get there. Our car time is good talking time.

I am celebrating…

My mom’s birthday yesterday. We had a great time together!!

A great start to the swim season! The swimmers are doing well and hopefully having a great time!

We’ll celebrate the 4th of July at the pool and with neighborhood fireworks (hopefully).

We’ll celebrate 7-11 day next Friday. It’s free slurpee day and we’ve been going since Jack was 2!

Birthdays at the pool. One of our lifeguards and junior swim coaches had a birthday last week and I brought a birthday banner to hang from her umbrella. It is now a thing. When anyone on swim team has a birthday (and I have our cooler), we hang the birthday banner on their umbrella. It’s a fun little celebration! Today is our 6th birthday celebration in a little over a week.

I am remembering…

To drink more! It has been so hot and humid that hydration is an absolute must! We are outside summer people and hydration is keeping us going.

How much better I feel if I exercise in the morning before I get my day started. I’ve been putting it off until the afternoon or evening, but it is hanging over my head all day. I like lounging in bed for a little longer in the morning, but it so much nicer to exercise first thing with the heat and humidity we’ve had.

I am trying…

To read more. I usually fly through books in the summer, but I keep finding myself getting distracted from the books.

To get to the farm where we used to do our CSA. I haven’t been there yet this summer and I love their fruits, veggies, and eggs.

To wear real clothes in the summer. My go to is athleisure, but I am trying to wear my cool and comfy dresses or outfits to run errands or dash around town. I keep going back to the motto “If I have it, I should wear it.”

That was fun! It felt good to get two blog posts out in one week. Woohoo! i am not sure if today is going to be a pool day or a get things done at home day. It all depends on the weather. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
