Hello Monday – 10/21/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

This was a great weekend! The weather was perfect and we got to enjoy it! I used my Sunday to make sure I was ready for the work week which makes me feel so good. I am narrowing down our weekend to eight great moments, so here they are.

1-Jack and Luke had their first swim meet of the season. It was so good to see them back in the pool! Their coach had them focusing on technique more than time and they both did a good job! The meet had swimmers 13 and over swimming together so Jack and Luke swam in consecutive heats. It was great for their cheering, filming mom! My friend Jamie’s son was also swimming in the meet so we got to hang out while the kids swam! And, I cannot believe I didn’t lead with this, Jack and Luke swam in the same session!! I only spent 4.5 hours in the stands, instead of the 9+ hours I was doing for the past 4 years. It was glorious!

2-The sun was out and shining all weekend long! I spent some time outside all three days. On Friday, I went for a walk and enjoyed some porch time. On Saturday, I got outside around the swim meet. As soon as the boys were finished, I put my chair up behind my car and read in the sunshine! On Sunday, Luke had soccer and I went for a walk while he was warming up and then soaked up the sun during his game.

3-I was home on Sunday morning. Luke and I watched CBS Sunday morning together. That is one of my favorite ways to learn a little about what is going on in the world and have a restful Sunday morning.

4-Jack had a golf tournament on Sunday. It was pretty far away, so he and Jeff were gone most of the day. He was excited to play a new course and did well!

5-Luke was back on the soccer field after a weekend off. I love watching him play soccer and it was a beautiful day for soccer. He played really well and his team won!

6-There is a great outlet center near the pool where the boys swam on Saturday. We stopped on the way home because Jack needed a few things. I popped into the Gap outlet and was so so excited. I got this black coat over 20 years ago and I love it.

There was also a camel coat at the time and I didn’t get it. It has been haunting me ever since. Look what I saw when I walked into the outlet! It’s not exactly the same, but I LOVE it! It was on a huge sale and I am so excited to have a camel coat similar to the one that has been on my mind for 20+ years!

The Gap outlet also had my favorite cardigans so I got a little refresh.

Shopping with Jack can be so fun or so painful. He knows what he wants but can have a hard, very hard time making up his mind. This shopping trip was fun! He found everything he was looking for at the Under Armour outlet and they were having good sales. I love the UA outlet because I can use a teacher discount there, too. It was a great trip and everyone walked away happy!

7-Even though it was warm like summer, my meal plan said that we were having a roast in the crockpot on Sunday. I was a bit aprehensive about it, but stuck to the plan. When we got home from Luke’s soccer game after 5 and Jeff and Jack got home at 6 from golf, I was so happy with my meal plan. Dinner was so easy and all four of us loved it. There were even leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Woohoo!

8-Shockingly, the early dark evenings are great, too. I have been staying up later than I would like to but the darkness at 7 pm makes me want to hit the hay earlier. As I am typing this it’s 7:45 pm and I am ready for bed already. I usually get grumpy when the sun starts setting earlier, but I am embracing it this year!

I think I am ready for the week ahead, so here we go! If you blogged today, don’t forget to link up below for Hello Monday. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
