Hello Monday – 6/3/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Well friends, I am excited to say that Summer Sarah made an appearance this weekend! I saw this online over the weekend and it made me laugh. I also think Summer Sarah might folllow these suggestions while changing coffee to Diet Pepsi and seltzer/La Croix drinks.

On Friday evening, I ran a bunch of errands and got home around 6:30. I was going to try to convince Jeff to go somewhere outside – a friend’s, the pool, etc. – but he was finishing up cutting the grass. We ended up sitting outside on the deck for a while and it was just the catching up time we needed!

On Saturday, I took Jack to cut my parents’ yard and met my friend Jamie for a walk around town. As soon as we got home, I started getting ready for a great day at the pool. I packed the cooler and the pool bag and headed out. I went a little early to take care of some pool business and stayed until closing at 9 pm! Luke and I had our first all dayer of the year! Woohoo!! It was so fun to hang out with different people all day. We have some friends that come when the pool opens and others that come in the evening so we got to see lots of people.

Jeff and Jack were at the pool for a little while before going to play golf with one of Jack’s buddies and his dad. Luke had his team lacrosse party at the pool that evening. The weather was great, the food was great, and the team gift was great (personalized lacrosse balls).

On Sunday, Jack had to be at the pool early for swim team try outs. I headed over with him for the day. I took a long walk in the neighborhoods near the pool and then settled in for a few hours. Jeff and Luke came when the pool opened. I read and chatted with friends until four o’clock. That’s when I started with the Sunday handwringing thinking about what I needed to get done for this week.

We were home for a yummy dinner of chicken and salmon, some rice, and a big salad. After everyone cleaned up dinner, we sat down for a family calendar meeting. I thought that things were going to calm down this week, but boy was I wrong! I am feeling this deep in my core:

After about 30 minutes, we figured out all of the schedules: lifeguarding, swim team, swim team coach, and lacrosse practice and made a dinner plan. I think I have it all worked out and we are ready as we’ll ever be for this week.

I met my goal of spending at least 10 hours at the pool this weekend! I was there for over 13 hours. I finished The Rule Book by Sarah Adams and started my second Summer Beach Read of the year. I am planning to post every day this week, but we’ll see how that goes. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with Holly and me below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
