Hello Monday – 1/8/24

Happy Monday! It’s our first Hello Monday of the new year! Holly and I are excited to be back with Hello Monday for another year. We have a new graphic if you’d like to use it. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

This is a big day for link ups!Holly and I have Hello Monday and I’m sharing our weekend.  Tanya is hosting an Amazon link up and the Share Our Lives ladies are sharing introductions and jobs you’ve had. I’m doing it all today! I love reading other bloggers’ posts about Amazon finds and the Share Our Lives (formerly Not Just a Mom) posts. Get comfy, this is a long post but it’s full of fun! Let’s get to it!

We were all ready for a weekend of snow and ice, and all we got were a few flurries and a bunch of cold, cold rain! What a bust of a storm! It didn’t really affect our weekend too much though. The boys had swim practice on Saturday and Jeff and I had a pool board meeting. I got a great Peloton app workout in the basement. I really love that app! I was back in my pjs by 5:15 and it felt great. We watched football and I did a little work on the blog and read. We also started the Percy Jackson series on Disney+. All four of us loved it!

On Sunday, I read in bed for a bit until my phone reminded me that I was planning to take a Peloton yoga class in 10 minutes. So I bounced out of bed and headed to the basement. After my class, I went for a long walk in the neighborhood. Jeff went for a walk and the boys played pickleball at our neighborhood tennis court. It was sunny but windy and cold so we all stayed inside for the rest of the day. I was happy to sit in our library and read for a bit. Jack studied for his midterm exams this week and Luke looked over his classes for a bit. I did the regular Sunday reset and prep for the week. It was a blank square on the calendar and we took advantage of it!

I wanted to get a salad spinner for a long time, but I didn’t have a space in my cabinet for it. I found this collapsible one and put it on my Christmas list. We have eaten so much more salad since I got it!

I love this outfit! It was so comfy and I got quite a few compliments on it. I thought it was Granny Chic, but apparently it’s Coastal Grandmother (Thanks Holly!) and I love that, too!

I love cardigans so much! I added a stuffed squirrel to this one for Christmas.

This cardigan is so good! I have it in black, tiger, red, and caramel. My friend at work ordered a few also and loves them!

Jeff actually made this Amazon purchase but I am hoping to use it this year too. I started the year with a cold plunge, but haven’t been in since. The water dropped the low 30s and 20s with our weather this week and that’s a little too cold for me. Hopefully, I’ll get back in this week.

I’ve had this heated blanket for a while, but we all used it so much over winter break. It’s so warm and cozy that it makes it hard to get up!

I feel like I’ve introduced myself a few times, but here’s a quick run through. I am a wife to Jeff,

mom to Jack and Luke,

beach and pool lover,

avid reader and exerciser,

and love to feel the sunshine on my cheeks!

I was thinking about my former jobs and every single one has been at a pool or a school! I was a swim coach, swim lesson intructor, lifeguard, lifeguard course instructor, and pool manager. I actually met Jeff in a lifeguard class when I was a pool manager. I also worked at our pool’s snack shack and did a little waiter catering in the pool clubhouse for a few months.

I have been a 3rd grade teacher (1 year), kindergarten teacher (9 years), 1st grade teacher (1 year), and elementary school librarian (11 years). I loved being a classroom teacher, but I really love being a librarian. It is so great to have your own class of kids and be all together for the year, but I think it is even better to teach kids for up to seven years! Our school has one class of pre-k and a full set of kindergarten through fifth grade classes. I teach at my neighborhood elementary school which is even better! I love seeing kids out in the wild. It’s so funny to see their reactions, some act like I am Taylor Swift and others act like they have no idea who I am and can’t believe I would have the audacity to recognize them. Ha!

If you are still here, you deserve an award! Thanks for reading all the way through. I hope you’ll link up with Holly and me for Hello Monday and check out some of the others that linked up, too. I want you to know that when I share an Amazon find, it is because I really love it so enjoy! I have posts planned for most days this week, so be sure to come on back! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
