Friday Favorites – 5/19/23

Happy Friday! Well this was another whirlwind of a week! Time seems to be flying but we still have 14 days of school left! I have some favorites from this week to share with you, so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: SUNSHINE!! It’s always a favorite!! I had a virtual meeting this week and was able to do it from my deck. We talked about 40 different books as I sat in the sunshine. Talk about a perfect afternoon!!

Favorite 2: Jack!! We are coming down the home stretch of the school year and I am so proud of Jack. Sure he’s ready to be done, but I am not seeing any glimpses of 8th grade-itis. He’s still studying, prepared for each day, and doing really well.

He’s also putting in the work at the golf course. I’ve been able to see him play twice this season and it’s so fun! He is ALL BUSINESS at the course but I still add my moments of levity and “embarrassing” fun.

I saw this on Instagram this week and it made me laugh. 8th grade and everything that goes along with it is no joke, but I do love hanging out with Jack!

Favorite 3: LUKE!! Luke has really stepped up taking responsibility at school. He’s been emailing his teachers with questions and updates and taking care of schedule changes. It has been great to watch him grow in his first year at school without me there!

Favorite 4: WALKS!! I have been walking or running every single day. On Wednesday night, the boys and I were home so I decided we’d all three go on a walk together. I’m not sure why I thought it would be a good, fast walk while we talked about our days and thoughts. They are 12 and 14 year old boys. I was clearly delusional. We started like this:

And about 11 seconds later, it looked like this:

And that continued for the entire walk. Kids…

Favorite 5: JEFF!! This season has worked out in a magically scheduled way that Jeff and I have been able to do a lot together. We have been dividing and conquering for a while, but lately we’ve been able to do things together. I am loving it! I don’t know if the scheduling gods will continue to bless us like this but I sure hope so!!

Favorite 6: JEWELRY!! I love big, colorful jewelry. My Cora’s Den bubblegum necklaces add so much fun to every outfit! My new Gray Co. bracelets are adding even more fun! I love the fun beads and mixing the colors to match my outfits. I have a few different stacks (it’s cheaper to buy them that way) and mix them up for the perfect accessories!

Not Favorite 1: DISHWASHERS!! It seems I lied to you all last week. My dishwasher is not fixed and it cannot be fixed. Luckily it is under warranty and will be replaced. However, it will likely be OVER A MONTH from the time I initiated the repair/claim until we have a new dishwasher. It has been a ridiculous ordeal and I am not happy about this.

Hello Monday
Fashion Files

I am looking forward to this weekend. Luke has a lacrosse tournament on Saturday. The weather doesn’t look super, but I think they’ll still get the games in. Luke has his soccer party on Saturday and a soccer game on Sunday. Jack has a golf tournament on Sunday, too. We are celebrating Mother’s Day with my mom on Sunday after all the sports. It will be nice to visit with my mom and dad and enjoy some delicious steamed crabs! Hopefully I can squeeze in some good reading time. I need to get ready for the upcoming week because it is going to be BUSY!! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Lucky you with only 14 days left- we still have 19! Eek! Anyway- you got this Mama. The pics from your walk cracked me up- they are so real! Love all of your sweet time with your hubby too- have a great weekend!

OMG! I can’t believe that about your dishwasher; that’s awful. I have been loving the sunshine; even if it has gotten a bit chilly and windy these past couple of days.

So many great favorites. It’s nice when we can get a family walk in, but that’s rare…& the kids are rarely well behaved 😆I hope you have a great weekend with your family and celebrating Mother’s Day.
