Hello Monday – 1/30/23

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Before I get to our weekend, I want to thank everyone who shared ideas, themes, cookbooks, and recipes last week! It made my Sunday meal planning this week so much easier!! I decided to inventory our freezers on Sunday afternoon before I planned. I took what I already have, looked at your ideas, and we have a meal plan with different foods that everyone is excited about. Well, I’m excited and the rest of the family is not complaining so that’s a win!

I had my book club on Thursday night. It was fun but I forgot to take any pictures. Oops! I went right to bed afterwards so there was no Friday Favorites ready to go. I worked from home on Friday so I thought I’d write it in the morning, but I sure didn’t! I got right to work and the post never got done. Oops, again!

As I was getting ready for book club, I pulled out my usual serving dishes and then I put them away. I have a ton of serving dishes and I don’t use all of them. I decided to change it up a bit. We were having a chicken Cesar salad and I had three different things to add – cucumbers, tomatoes, and croutons. I used this fun dish that I’ve had since we got married.

I used this bowl for the salad, instead of my usual colorful one. It was great because I cut the lettuce and chicken ahead of time and put it in the fridge. The bowl got pretty cold and kept the lettuce so crisp!

After a busy work from home day, we headed to Jeff’s school for their basketball game. We knew kids playing for both teams so it was the perfect game to attend. It was a great game! Jeff’s parents joined us for the game and it was great to see them! We hadn’t seen them in a few weeks.

On Saturday, Jack had a basketball game and they won. It was great!

Then we headed to my parents’ house, my dad’s office, Target, and dropped some yarn off with Jamie. She’s crocheting a lap blanket for me and its GORGEOUS!! We made it home in time for Luke to get to swim team practice. Jeff and Jack went to their basketball game at 9 and Luke and I watched some Family Feud and went to bed.

On Sunday, we slept in. I didn’t get up until 8 am! It felt great but so weird to sleep so late! We watched the WWE Royal Rumble and laughed so hard.

The kids played outside and with the neighbors all afternoon. Luke had his first lacrosse clinic of the season Sunday evening.

I got outside both days for a long walk. Saturday I listened to a great audiobook and on Sunday Jeff and I had a great walk together.

Jeff and I have to work today but they kids are home. I have professional development all day. I’m leading two sessions and hoping to learn a bunch in the other two. My parents are hanging with the kids. Jack’s so excited to play golf with his new irons and who knows what my mom and Luke will get into.

I am hoping to have a full week of posting this week, but we’ll see how the week goes. Thanks for linking up with Holly and I if you’re blogging! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Is this like a winter break for you all? We have a four day weekend for the kids along with President’s Day around Feb. 20, but the two days are parent teacher conferences and a PD day for teachers. If we don’t get any snow days we will be wrecked by then! I think we always count on a few!
I am so happy that you feel re-energized about cooking!

Juggling work, home life and blogging can be very tricky sometimes. Congratulations to Jack on winning his basketball game! Hope you have a great week.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I love the dishes. I always seem to use the same ones when we have some fun ones too.
