Hello Monday – 11/21/22

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our week. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I never got around to sharing some of the fun from my girls’ weekend. We went to Ocean City and stayed in a great place. It has a big comfy couch with a wide ocean view. It was pretty warm on Saturday and we walked all over. We did a little shopping, stopped for late morning drinks and a snack, walked back to the place, took a dip in the ocean, and went to a local favorite for happy hour and into the evening.

When we got back to the place Saturday evening, we had our Favorite Things party and hung out before heading to bed.

We all made our way back home on Sunday morning and I spent the day hanging out with my guys. I even took a nap!

The week flew by. I was off on Monday and took care of some things around the house. On Thursday, my mom and I went out to dinner and an Andrew Morton event. He is on tour for his new book The Queen and I was so excited to hear what he had to say. Most of the talk was about The Crown and him being featured in this season, but it was still very interesting. Have you started watching this season of The Crown? I haven’t but I am looking forward to it!

We had a few gorgeous sunrises this week, too!

Luke asked me to chaperone the 6th grade rec event after school on Friday. I was so excited to see him with his middle school buds! He had a great time and the kids were so cute! It started snowing at one point and the screaming excitement was off the charts! I had a great time with the moms, too.

I had a true teenage boy mom moment Friday evening. After picking Jack up from swim practice with a coat over my pjs, I found myself scrambling a half a dozen eggs at 9 because the boys were hungry again.

Jeff’s school was in the championship football game and we watched it on tv Friday evening. We caught a couple of glimpses of him on tv when the team won!

We only had one thing to do this weekend – Jack’s basketball practice on Saturday afternoon. It was so relaxing! 7-11 opened pretty close to our house so Jack and Luke rode their bikes to get slurpees.

Luke and I ran to my parents for a little bit and then we went to watch some of his buddies play in their football super bowl. After our errands and Jack’s practice, we met for dinner and my parents joined us.

On Sunday, we stayed home all day! We watched the opening game in the World Cup, college basketball, and a bunch of football. I finished a Christmas book and started another. I was hoping to get our outside lights up but it was FREEZING!! The wind was really whipping at the house and it blew our turkey around. It cracked me up every time I walked by the door. Hey buddy!

I did make it out for a nice long power walk both days. The sun was shining but it did not warm things up!

We have a short week of school this week and I am planning on setting up the Book Fair on Wednesday morning before we go home. We’re going to be with all of our parents on Thanksgiving. I’m decorating for Christmas all day on Friday. Jack has a basketball tournament this weekend and Luke and I are headed to a parade. It’s going to be a fun week! I’ll be back here on Wednesday and Friday, so be sure to come back! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

The late night cooking! So fun! Your girls trip looks amazing! Same with our weather this weekend, but we are going to be in the mid 50s this week which will be a nice break from the cold. So fun that you went to a book signing with your mom. Happy short week!

Sounds like you had a fun trip away with your friends. The cute turkey made me LOL! I’ve started the latest season of The Crown but I’m not finding it as interesting as the previous seasons. Maybe I have to get used to the new actors.

Your girls trip looks amazing! I love that you met Andrew Morton. I’m going to add that book to my list. I haven’t had time to start the new season, but I hope to later this week. I love that the boys rode their bikes to get slurpees. How fun. Have a great (short!) week

We just started watching The Crown so we’re only on season 1 but I am really enjoying it. It sounds like your girls trip was fabulous!
