We had two blank squares on the calendar this weekend. Two whole days with absolutely nothing that we had to do! It took me a little while to be sure that I hadn’t forgotten or missed anything. On Friday, Jack headed to the golf course to volunteer for the last time this summer. He had a great day and a great summer there! I am so glad he decided to volunteer there and hope he can go back again next summer. Luke and I went to the pool to enjoy my last weekday of summer in one of my favorite spots!
We went to the pool at 10:30 on Saturday morning so the boys could swim laps before the pool opened. Jeff and Jack stayed until about 3 because they decided to enjoy our blank square evening and play golf. Luke and I were planning on staying until dinner. Well, he had groups of friends cycling through the pool day and next thing we knew it was 9 pm and the pool was closing! We pulled an “all day-er”. It was so much fun! I love summer days like that!
On Sunday morning we got a few things done around the house and headed back to the pool. Luke was pretty tired from our all day-er and stayed home for a bit. When he wanted to come to the pool, Jack wanted to go home so I switched the kids out. Luke and I left around 5 because I was starting to get a little antsy about dinner and making sure we were ready for today.
I got back to one of my favorite evening routines of hopping in bed, watching a little tv, and painting my nails. I love this color for summer, Sun-rise up by OPI Infinite Shine.
I’m heading back to work today. My summer break is officially over. We had an incredible summer and I am so grateful for my time off and our time together. The kids are heading off for Camp Gigi this morning and they are going to have the best time with my parents!

It is so bittersweet! It sounds like you had the perfect last weekend of summer and you do get a 3 day weekend with more pool time coming up, I hope! So weird because we are starting week 4!

So much pool time! I love it. I had hoped we’d get to the pool yesterday but no such luck. Maybe next weekend. You all had an amazing summer. I hope you have a great first day back
