Happy Thursday! As I write this Wednesday night, we already have a two hour delay and are possibly going to have another snow day. It looks like we are starting a winter with a little storm every few days instead of one big snow storm. I am hoping for a real whopper of a storm during the Olympics so I can park myself in front of the tv and soak it all up!

I’m sharing the books I gave and received for Jolabokaflod this year. If you’ve never heard of it, Jolabokaflod is an Icelandic tradition. It translates to English as the Yule book flood. It is a tradition of giving and receiving books on Christmas Eve. It is usually coupled with chocolate and reading the books in a cozy spot. I started giving my family books a few years ago, but our Christmas Eves are a little too busy to participate in the reading in a cozy spot. After dinner, we read The Night Before Christmas and scoot the kids off to bed.

Jolabokaflod Book Club for my mom, sister, and me – Recipe for a Perfect Wife by Karma Brown

I love sharing books on Christmas Eve but I have to tell you, it can be quite stressful to pick out the right book for everyone. I was really excited about a lot of these books this year. My mom is a huge reader so finding a book she’s never heard of, hasn’t read, and is excited to read is a tough job, but always worth it. My dad is also pretty tricky. He’s read pretty much every golf book out there, but he loves golf books. So I try to find the magical golf book that he’ll love and hasn’t read yet. Again, always worth it to find one.
