Hello Monday – 8/30/21

Happy Monday! As you read this I am heading back to work to start a wonderful school year! We had a fantastic weekend and the kids are getting ready for one of their favorite weeks of the year – Camp GigiPop! I am linking up with Heather for Hello Monday to share our weekend.

My plan for the Friday before I go back to work is always to spend it at the pool. I try to be there open to close. This year I was there open to close and open to close again! Friday started out gorgeous but some clouds started rolling in. They had to close the pool for thunder so we all went home. Then around 6 the pool reopened and we went back to swim for the rest of the evening. It was great!

On Saturday, the Shipley family of Maryland hosted a rededication in our backyard. When we moved in, we had no idea that there was a family cemetery in the brush between our yard and the cornfield. In the past 2 years, a descendant of the Shipley family worked with the Coalition to Protect Maryland Burial Sites and cleared the brush, replaced the old, mangled chain link fence, and improved our view immensely. Now that the monument looks like it was intended to, the family came to rededicate it. There were about 30 people there and it was lovely.

We spent a few hours at the pool on Saturday and then headed to my parents for crabs. We haven’t gotten steamed crabs in a while and they were so good! Picking crabs is definitely a learned thing and Jeff was teaching Luke while my dad taught Jack.

How cute are these crab earrings? I picked them up in Target a few years ago and break them on nights just like these.

It was early to bed for us Saturday night because Jeff had to leave by 6 am to get to the BMW Championship for his volunteer shift. I woke up with Jeff and finished Blush by Jamie Brenner. I loved it and it made me want to drink lots of wine!

The boys and I got to the course around 11. We only walked about 5 miles, instead of our 6 miles on Wednesday but we still saw a bunch of golf. Luke and I left around 4:45. Jeff and Jack were going to stay for the end and then it turned into a marathon! Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Cantlay headed to a playoff hole. And then they ended up playing 6 playoff holes. Patrick Cantlay won in the end and Jack was pretty excited to be there for the trophy! They didn’t get home until after 9 pm!

That’s about it for the weekend. We are all ready to make this a fantastic week! I hope your’s is too! have a great day full of sunshine and books!!

Thanks for the up close view of the BMW! 2 of my sons are Chick Evans Scholars which the BMW directly supports. It is an amazing organization. I always enjoy reading your blog!
