Happy Thursday! We had the best day yesterday! The kids and I checked off another thing on our Summer Fun list! We went to the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Hopefully, we will get back to the Smithsonian Museums again this summer. Sometimes, I take for granted how close we are to Washington, DC and all of the amazing things it has to offer. We’ve been to the Air & Space museum, the American History museum, the museum of Natural History, the White House, the Washington Monument, the National Mall, and now the National Zoo. That means we have a bunch of museums and monuments to visit!

This month we are talking about summer fashion. Summer is my favorite season and summer clothes are also my favorite! If you don’t blog along, I’d love to read your answers in the comments.
1. Bikini, Tankini, or One Piece?
I am a bikini girl. Over the past few years, I’ve worn mostly Title Nine bikinis. I love that they have good coverage, are halter style, stay put when I am playing in the pool, and have fun colors or designs.
I wear a few non-Title Nine bikinis. I have a few Lands End bikinis. I have a Vineyard Vines suit that I love! I also have a one shoulder bikini that I got from Nordstrom that I love.
I have worn tankinis throughout the years, mostly the summers right after I had the boys. I wear one when I swim laps now, too.
I just bought my first one piece in years. I haven’t worn it yet, but I think I’m going to wear it tomorrow evening. It’s from Draper James for Lands End. The straps are detachable and it is so cute.
2. Best Swimsuit You Ever Owned?
I instantly think about a monokini that I had when I was about 8. It was lime green on top, black on the bottom, and connected on the side. I loved that suit! My second favorite suit was a white bikini with my monogram on it that I got from J. Crew for our honeymoon. I loved that suit!
3. White Jeans… Yes or No?
Yes, but I don’t wear them much in the summer. I love white jeans in the spring to bring the summer feeling early and into the fall to keep summer going.
4. Favorite Pair of Flip Flops?
I love my Havianas for the beach and pool because they dry so quickly. I have a gold-ish color and a glitter pair.
I also love Reef flip flops because they are so comfortable. I have a thin and thick strap flip flops and love them both equally.
This year I ended up with two pairs of Vineyard Vines flip flops. One women’s and one men’s. My mom got the men’s pair for Jack but they were too small. I loved the navy and turquoise and they fit me, so I kept them. They both have thick straps and are so comfortable.
5. Must Have Summer Accessory?
My first must have are sunglasses. I don’t need expensive sunglasses, I just need them to be durable. Here are some of my favorites. I got one pair on a beach in Mexico, have ordered them online, and sometimes I just pick them up at a big box store.
I can’t wear my sunglasses all the time because I get the worst raccoon eyes tan. So, I love a good baseball hat or visor, too.

6. Favorite Summer Fashion Staples?
My number one go to is a shift or swing dress. I love dresses in the summer. All I need are sandals, a cardigan, and fun jewelry and I’m ready to go!
7. Skirts or Shorts?
Yes to skirts, shorts, and skorts! I wear them all in the summer!
8. Any Brands That Just Say Summer to You?
All together now, LILLY PULITZER of course!! Lilly prints and bright colors are so perfect for summer. I do tend to wear Lilly all year long, but she really shines in the summer.
9. Favorite Summer Scent?
I love the smell of sunscreen! If I’m looking for a scent to wear, I tend to reach for coconut or citrus in the summer.
10. Do You Switch Your Handbag in the Summer?
I sure do! I’ve been carrying Barrington and Spartina bags for a few years. I have a palm leaves bag, a pineapple bag, and a mermaid bag that I love to use in the summer.
That was fun! A lot of my pictures could’ve gone with a bunch of those questions. It makes sense because my favorite things to wear in the summer are Lilly and bathing suits. I can’t wait to see what everyone else’s answers are. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I am so jealous of your DC day trip! I’ve always wanted to go to the national museum and see the pandas. You have the cutest summer styles and I just knew Lilly was going to be your answer. I have a read hard time with bikini tops because I can’t wear halter styles as they give me massive headaches in no time.. and yet they are so supportive that most bikinis are halter style.
