Happy Friday! I feel like this week has flown by! Between work and home, I feel like I blink and the day is gone every single day. Luckily, I caught a few favorites in between those blinks.

Favorite 1 – BOOKS!! I shared one of my favorite posts of the year on Monday! It is the list that includes my favorite books and is my reading list for the summer. It’s the SUMMER BEACH READS!!! Four of the books are already out and the rest are coming soon! Go pick them up or preorder from your local independent bookstore or Amazon or get on the holds list at your library! Don’t forget to leave a comment on that post to be entered in the giveaway.

Favorite 2 – AUTHORS!! We had our first author visit at school in over a year! It was a virtual visit and we held it after school to avoid interrupting instruction. It was so fun! Colleen AF Venable and Stephanie Yue were so fun! They did an amazing job sharing their process and their amazing graphic novels with our students. Katie the Catsitter is their newest graphic novel and we love it!!

Favorite 3: PLANTS!! We ripped out a bunch of plants in the front of our house over the past few years and it had become a mulched area for weeds. We don’t get a ton of sun in the front and I wanted low maintenance so we went with hostas, lots and lots of hostas. My mom has a top secret hosta shop and she hit it hard for me. I love how they look and can’t wait for them to fill in over the next few years.

Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! The sunset over our high school track has been beautiful lately!

I broke out my running skort for the first time this week because the sunshine was so strong! I ran/walked a few times this week and it felt great to go for a run in the sun!

Favorite 5: QUESO!! I say it’s not an official Cinco de Mayo without queso. I love the queso at our local Mexican restaurant and they had Mexican flag colored chips for Cinco de Mayo this year. Yum! I also drizzled some over our sheet pan fajitas – double yum!

Favorite 6: RAIN!! I would never pick a rainy day over a sunny one, but I do love how the kids have to be more creative on rainy days. This week they made an scooter track for themselves and entertained themselves in the garage for a long time!

Favorite 7: NAIL POLISH!! As you know, I am on an eternal quest for the perfect pink. Just when I thought I found it in that OPI infinite shine, I found another one. My friend Amy recommended Olive & June Pink Sand to me. This is the perfect opaque pale pale pink. It’s almost white, but not quite and I love it!!

Favorite 8: JEWELRY! You know I love my bubblegum necklaces from Cora’s Den, but I just decided I love them even more!! Thursday morning, I wanted to wear my green shirt, for Children’s Mental Health Awareness, with my green necklace. The only problem was that the monogram was green and it disappeared into my shirt. So, I took it off! I cannot believe it has taken me so long to figure this out! If I had more time this morning I would’ve put my white monogram on the green necklace and that would be perfect! Unfortunately, I slept through my alarm and was a little short on time.

Favorite 9: DIET COKE!! I know it’s terrible for you, but I love Diet Coke! I didn’t have any at work on Thursday so I was pretty excited to enjoy an ice cold one when I walked in the door that afternoon.

I’m going to leave you with this because it could not be more true! I am trying to be realistic telling myself that everything will calm down in two weeks, not one. Haha, hahaha.

I am looking forward to reading a bunch and hopefully seeing the sunshine! It looks like we could have a rainy 3 days ahead of us. I am hoping to make the most of it. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
