What’s Up Wednesday – 2/24/21

Happy Wednesday! The sun was finally shining yesterday and I soaked it up! It was so lovely! It’s What’s Up Wednesday so let’s get to all these prompts.

Linking up with Sheaffer and Shay

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…

I’m doing a smoothie reset full of immunity boosting nutrients, so my lunch will be smoothies each day. I am excited about them!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…

Travel! There, I said it. Staying put is starting to get to me. We have taken a warm weather winter trip the past 3 years and I miss it. I know that staying put is what’s best for everyone one, but I am really missing travel and warm weather. I’m sticking close to home, but I am reminiscing about our warm weather winter trips.

Three years ago we went to Mexico and soaked up the sun.

Two years ago, we went to Florida to visit my sister and go to the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Then we drove across Florida and went to the Orioles’ Spring Training.

Last year, we went to Aruba and soaked up all the sun. Then I went to Asheville (brr, but fun) and Hilton Head for my sister’s shower and soaked up some beach and sun time.

WHAT I’M LOVING…

Sunshine! I am trying to make the best of the snow and chilly weather by focusing on apricity. Even on the grayest of snowy days, we have had at least one peak of sunshine. Jeff and I went on a walk today and the sun felt so good on my cheeks!

I am also loving watching my guys play outside in the snow. They have created so many games or adapted sports to play in the snow or ice. It makes all of us so much happier to get some fresh air!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…

We surely haven’t been in any sort of routine. Between snow days and taking days off, I have to consult my phone each day to figure out what day it is so I know what to do. The kids have been practicing with their teams – swim, baseball, basketball, and soccer.

Jeff’s been recovering from his surgery and it’s going really well! He had his post-op appointment yesterday and the doctor was so pleased with how well he’s doing.

WHAT I’M DREADING…

DUST!! The weather keeps delaying our progress on the home renovation project. The guys keep telling us they are cutting through the walls and we get home to find they didn’t. I know the drywall dust is coming and it’s going to be all over the first floor. Not only because drywall dust gets everywhere, but also because they are doing work in the kitchen and bathroom. It will all be worth it, but I am still dreading the dust.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…

I just became a BeautyCounter consultant. I’ve never done anything like this before, but I just love the products. I’ve actually decided that I love them so much that I want to share them. I started using the CounterMatch regimen and this 40 year old skin has never felt better! I love how clean the products are and that I don’t have to worry about letting my kids use them either.

I’ve also been working on planning our spring and summer. I love my Erin Condren Daily Duo planner, but it only goes through June. That’s a little tricky because we are starting to work on summer plans. I am always a little behind planning camps for my boys because I am home all summer. They go to a few camps to break up the summer and be with their friends. I picked up a monthly calendar with big blocks to plan our summer.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…

New Cora’s Den earrings! How cool are these monograms? They are a layered SP. 😍 The color is perfect for spring and summer, too!

I also have some fun Saint Patrick’s Day earrings too! There are some really fun ones on the website. You should check it out! Remember, I have a code for 10% off, SUNSHINEANDBOOKS10. There is also a big sale coming up next week. I am pretty excited about that, too!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…

I finally finished Bridgerton this week. I can’t wait to read the book now. I’m also watching Virgin River when I get to it on the treadmill.

Right now I’m reading The Guncle by Steven Rowley. It’s good! You can check out my 2021 Books to see what else I’ve been reading.

If you are looking for something new to read, don’t forget I share new releases every Tuesday. I am looking forward to reading all 4 books I shared yesterday.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…

I have been listening to The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. Tom Hanks does an amazing job narrating. I find myself sitting in the car or looking for things to do that involve me listening to the book. I have about 3 hours left.

WHAT I’M WEARING…

I have been home from school for quite a few days between snow days and Jeff’s surgery so I’ve been wearing all the comfy clothes. When I was doing laundry this week all I saw were leggings, quarter zips, sweatshirts, and tank tops.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…

The weather looks lovely and I am hoping to get some good time outside. Jamie and I are hoping to do our final Fellow Flowers flower virtual run. This is our 13th flower run and our 15th Fellow Flowers virtual run together. ❤️ 🌸

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…

SPRING!!! Spring is coming next month! Daylights Savings is coming too so we’ll get more evening sunshine!! Aren’t those the best??

Jack and Luke have their first swim meet of the season next month and they are so excited.

We’ll end the month celebrating Jack’s birthday!

Jeff and I are both getting our second dose of the COVID vaccine today. I’ll be back tomorrow with Holly and Patty for Monthly Musings. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I love reading about what everyone’s been up to! How are you liking Virgin River? I blew through it, and I’m excited for the next season!

Oh yes, drywall dust is the worst; it just seem to settle on everything! But you just have to remember how much better it will be in the end. I miss travel too… so much!

I want to travel too. I’ve REALLY been missing it lately 🙁 And my son is turning 12 at the end of March too! I love the word “apricity.” I’d never heard it before but our family is so much happier if we get outside right now.
