Happy Friday! I am so glad it’s Friday! We are having a great week, but I am always excited for Friday and the weekend. I’m going to get right out my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: VACCINES!! The COVID vaccine is still pretty hard to get ahold of in our county, but the health department is doing a great job getting the vaccines they have in the arms. I was able to get a spot in the school system clinic this week. My arm was SORE, but felt better in 24 hours. Way better than getting COVID.

Favorite 2: GAMES! I am still enforcing our old no screens during the week rule. The kids aren’t thrilled about it, but they are getting creative. Jack’s been organizing basketball meet ups at the court in our neighborhood with kids from school. Luke created this game for us to play. There were exercises to do based on the color that you rolled on the dice.

Favorite 3: CHEERIOS! I have always loved plain Cheerios. This week when I opened a new box, I found heart shaped Cheerios. That was such a fun surprise.

Favorite 4: SNOW! We had some snow and ice on Monday evening into Tuesday morning. We got our first 2 hour delay on Tuesday! 2 hour delays are my favorite because they count as a school day, the day is shorter, and everyone is a little excited about it. We are looking at a pretty good amount of snow this weekend (about 6 inches). We’ll see what it means for school. My snowflake earrings and necklace were the perfect way to add to the snow fun!

Favorite 5: HOUSE!! I shared our home improvement project on Wednesday. We are about halfway through the work and started moving some furniture to get ready for the next half. We are going to switch the couches in the basement and the family room, so we moved both to the basement so they don’t get any construction dust on them. These two chairs are going to be in the room I’m calling the library. We moved them into our current family room in the interim.

This picture made me giggle with Jeff’s and my feet on the ottoman with our blankets while we watched tv. It feels like we are practicing to be empty nesters. 😂

Favorite 6: BOOKS! I can’t write a Friday Favorites post without mentioning books. I’m reading the Little School by the Sea series by Jenny Colgan. I started Class on Wednesday and it’s the perfect thing for me to read right now.

The kids have a long weekend because Monday is the end of semester teacher work day. Luckily, I can work from home that day. The weather should be snowy and I hope the kids can go sledding all day! Luke’s outdoor soccer league ends this weekend 🥶 and Jack has basketball and baseball. I’ll be reading and getting ready for the week. This quote always inspires me to make the most of my Sundays.
