Hello Monday – 1/25/21

Happy Monday! We are ready for a 5 day week. I’ve meal planned, meal prepped, and I’m sharing some pictures of our weekend.

Linking up with Tanya and the girls

I saw this sweatshirt on an Old Navy ad and couldn’t resist. I was a little disappointed when it came and was so short. I decided to attempt to wear the trend to school on Friday. It didn’t bother me as much as I thought it might and the tank top gave it a little extra length, so I’m keeping it.

Saturday was a perfect blend of busy and down time for me. Jeff and I had to divide and conquer, but conquer we did! I took Luke to soccer and swim team practice. Jeff took Jack to baseball, soccer, and basketball. During Luke’s swim team practice I went to my friend Jodi’s to straighten out my lower back/hip area. Then we all met back at home and just hung out and watched some college and NBA basketball. We pulled Connect 4 out of the game shelf and we all rotated through the stools at the counter playing throughout the day.

Go Noodle!
My mom made this hat for Luke, but I swiped it for the game. It was COLD!! Luke was making grumpy faces on purpose. He played really well!
Jeff, Jack, and Luke are all way better than I am at Connect 4. I had no idea I was so bad until they all continually beat me.
I am loving this dip from Trader Joe’s. It’s delicious with pretzels and veggies! Between this and the buffalo chicken dip, I’ve been making almost weekly trips to Trader Joe’s.
My winter gummy vitamin line up. Trying to keep my nails, immunity, and general health in shape.

On Sunday, Jeff and Jack went to Jack’s basketball game while Luke and I hung out at home and watched on tv.

Jeff and I have been settling into a nice little Sunday routine. We’ve gone to a different grocery store each morning and had a long walk each afternoon while the boys played outside. I’m going to miss this when things get busy again with double header baseball games.

Jeff and I went to Aldi this week. Jeff had never been. We found some good things. The big take and bake pizzas are always a hit.
These grapes are so delicious!
Do you see what I see???? Plant City strawberries!!! They are the most flavorful, juiciest strawberries ever!
We have a new Peruvian chicken restaurant in town. Jack was dying to try it, mostly because it’s called Mr. Jack’s. We tried it on Sunday for lunch and it was DELICIOUS!! I also ordered way to much, so Jeff and I have lunch for a few days this week.
I have checked and returned this book at the library more times than I can count, and I still hadn’t read it. A group I’m in is doing a book club for it so I decided now was this time. I read the first two chapters today and it feels like the book is telling me everything I need to hear to kick some good habits into gear.
Luke stayed outside most of the afternoon. It wasn’t too chilly and he was having fun on the neighbor’s swing.
I was in the mood for something sweet and had a Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie dough pouch in the pantry. I made them into bars and they were exactly what I was looking for.
I’m reading The Bright Side of Going Dark by Kelly Harms. It’s good!
Luke and I had smoothies for dinner. This is my favorite one – berries, pineapple, almond milk, spinach, and protein powder.
Scratch off Sundays! We’re having so much fun with scratch offs each week. Unfortunately, Jeff was the only winner this week.

On Sunday evening before the kids went to bed, we were talking about insurance commercials. Do you agree that they are some of the funniest commercials on tv? Progressive’s series of commercials trying to help people avoid turning into their parents. 😂 State Farm and the NFL players’ rates. 😂 Geico’s Tag Team commercial. 😂 They are so funny and are getting me excited for Super Bowl commercials!!

We had a great weekend! We have two storms coming through this week that could produce some winter weather. I’m torn between wanting a snow day and hoping for an early dismissal or two hour delay to get this year over without adding another hybrid day. I have five days of posts planned for the week, so be sure to come back and check in. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

That sounds like the perfect weekend. We have a Peruvian chicken place and the chicken and dips are so good. They also have yucca fries. I want to read Atomic Habits. I hate when sweatshirts are short but I like that one on you. I get my custom made Valentine one this week!

I was going to make a chocolate chip pie this weekend but didn’t. Maybe next!

Love the sweatshirt, annoyed that the shorter shirt trend is back. I’m 43 let me live with at least below the hip

I am the total opposite– no one in my family will play Connect 4 with me because I always win!! That and Q-Bitz. I’m a very visual spatial kind of gal and rock at those sort of games. I don’t think we have snow coming but it has been SO cold here these past two days that our heat seems like it’s having a hard time keeping up (either that or I’m getting old and the cold bothers me more than it used to– I’m sticking with it’s the heater’s fault!).
