Happy Friday! This has been quite a week! I’m not sure why, but four day weeks always seem longer than five day weeks. I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some of my favorites from this week.

Favorite 1: BOOK MAIL!! I love Jenny Colgan’s books and I have been trying to track down her Little School by the Sea series. I finally found them for a reasonable price from Blackwell’s UK. The second and third came a little bit ago, but I got the first in the series last night! If you need me, I’ll hopefully be reading these all weekend.

Favorite 2: HISTORY!! I was so thankful that Wednesdays are learn from home days this week. Jack, Luke, and I watched inauguration coverage from the moment we woke up until late in the afternoon. All politics aside, inauguration days are so special. To see all three branches of our government acting out the Constitution in real time is amazing. In addition, to see the first woman, African-American, South Asian American Vice President sworn into office still gives me goosebumps. It’s interesting that my kids don’t see it as such a big deal because in their life they’ve known an African-American president, a woman as the presidential candidate for the Democratic Party, and now an African-American, South East Asian American, woman Vice President. But it is not lost on me. How fortunate we are to be living in a time when all the little girls and boys can look to the top officials in our country and realize that they could actually hold those positions!

Favorite 3: JEWELRY!! You know I couldn’t let an incredibly patriotic day pass without some fabulous red, white, and blue jewelry.

I also started wearing my fun Valentine’s Day earrings! It’s not too late to order for Valentine’s Day this year.

Favorite 4: BOOKS!! We are back in hybrid mode and my goal is to make sure every single kid can check out a book every single week. That means that Tuesdays and Thursdays are busy! With no school on Monday, my scanner and I saw every student in the building kindergarten through 5th grade on Tuesday. They each had a chance to check out a book. As crazy as it can be, it’s worth it to see the kids’ smiles when they pick a book.

Favorite 5: SWEET MAGNOLIAS!! I’ve been watching Sweet Magnolias while I’m on the treadmill. I’m really enjoying it! I was hoping to read the books first, but then I saw that there are more than 20!

Favorite 6: CAMOUFLAGE! How cute are these camo leggings? I picked them up at Old Navy and they are so comfy. They stay put at the waist all day!

The boys have soccer, baseball, swim, and basketball this weekend, so Jeff and I will be taxiing them all around. I am hoping to do a big cleanup/clean out of some of the toys, etc. in our basement. We need to start moving some furniture around for the next steps in our home renovation project. I’m looking forward to it all! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
