Let’s Look – 1/13/21

Happy Wednesday! I am excited for today’s post because it’s a Let’s Look linkup and I am one nosy girl. Today’s topic is your coffee bar area. Let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Shay

Well, that’s a little tricky considering I don’t like coffee. But I do like everything that coffee stands for – caffeine, warm mugs, hanging out with family or friends in pjs on a weekend morning, and meeting up for a date with friends at a cute coffee shop. I just do not like how it tastes. I really prefer to get all my caffeine from Diet Coke. I love an iced cold can of Diet Coke poured over ice. I also love to drink it with a straw. Mmmmm!

The other thing that makes this tricky is that our kitchen is a bit out of order. It has been this way for a VERY LONG TIME, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Last March 20th, we discovered a leak in our basement that was coming from the kids’ upstairs bathroom, on the second floor. It ended with us having our entire house re-piped in the second week of pandemic living and resulted in holes in our kitchen, powder room, living room, and guest room. I also have 2 kitchen cabinets off the walls and our microwave was damaged because water came through it. We fixed the guest room and living room holes but held off on the kitchen and powder room repairs. We held off on the kitchen and powder room because of some home renovations we were planning. Well, it took way longer than we expected to settle on the plans we wanted, the contractor we wanted, and get everything squared away. So we are currently on week 2 of renovations and have about 7 more.

The area that I kept my Keurig that I used for hot tea and iced tea now holds a mini microwave that we borrowed in the interim. So my Keurig is in a plastic tub in our basement. This is the model I have. It has never brewed a single cup of coffee, because that would make it taste like coffee. 😂

I love this color and I have a Lilly Pulitzer mug (also in the storage bin) that matches perfectly and sits on it all the time.

Even though I don’t drink coffee, I do drink hot tea. On Monday, I shared my favorite hot tea. I just love it! It is even delicious after it gets cold.

I also love cups and mugs! I found Swig this summer when I picked up two stainless steel wine glasses in surfboards and seashells. I fell in love with them when I read that they could go in the dishwasher!! Dishwasher safe stainless steel is really the best! When I ordered a big water tumbler and a smaller Diet Coke tumbler before school started, I opted for the Swig surprise and got this great mug!

Diet Coke on the left, tea in the middle, and water on the right.
See that open dishwasher in the background??
This mug is going right in there!

I love how this mug keeps my tea hot forever! I make it before I leave for school (6:50 am) and it is still so hot at 9 am. As I’m typing this, I realized that I could drink my Diet Coke out of this too since it also keeps things so cold. I’ll let you know on Friday how it goes!

If can fit a Diet Coke with a bunch of ice in it, there will probably be another Swig mug headed to my house and it will look like this. 😍

Or maybe like this… 😍

I love how Swig has AM+PM sets with a matching coffee (Diet Coke) mug and wine glass. Coordinating cups are my favorites!

So there you have it. I don’t have a coffee bar and I don’t like coffee. I do love cups and mugs and enjoy my hot tea in a dishwasher safe stainless steel mug. I can’t wait to see how other people have a coffee bar setup in their houses. It’s always a great way to get some new ideas for organizing my kitchen. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
