Hello Monday – 1/11/21

Happy Monday! We had a great weekend with the some sports and some good family time. It was chilly but sunny so we tried to get outside as much as we could on Sunday. I am heading back to in person teaching today so I spent most of the weekend getting my act together for the week. I am joining a new linkup to share how we get cozy and some small comforts.

Linking up with Jen, Joanne, and the ladies

One thing that I love to do is snuggle! Luke has always been my snuggliest snuggler. He will still crawl right into my lap or cozy in right under my arm when we are sitting down. He would get in my bed and snuggle every morning if time allowed. When he was little, he would tap me on the cheek to wake me up and say “I nuggle you Mommy?”. I still can’t resist it. I know that one day he won’t want to “nuggle” me anymore so I am soaking it up!

How could you say no when this sweet face asks to “nuggle”?

Jack will snuggle sometimes, but he has never been as big of a snuggler as Luke. Occasionally, he’ll squeeze in next to me or snuggle in our bed with Jeff and I. It doesn’t happen very often though.

All four of us are big fleece blanket people. Right now as I look around our family room, I see 5 blankets on the couches. Luke usually likes two blankets at a time and the rest of us just use one. We each have our favorites. I love this bliss blanket so much that we have 5 of them! 2 for the big chairs, 2 for the green couch, and one for Jack. Jack’s favorite is the blanket I got from Jamie for a favorite things gift one year. I love it too, but Jack always beats me to it.

I am a big slipper girl! My feet are always cold so I always wear slippers. My favorite are grandma, slip on, white slippers. They are so comfy and warm! One Christmas morning, my grandmother and I opened the same pair of slippers from my parents. And we both loved them!! I wear them all the time and will keep them until I wear through all the cushioning to the rubber sole!

With working at home off and on this year, I have started wearing my “work slippers” when I know people may see my feet or if I have to step outside to call the boys in. I love these pink Ugg slippers. They keep my feet so warm and aren’t quite as noticeable when I see a neighbor outside.

One of my favorite comforts is to paint my nails. I paint my nails in the evening after the kids go to bed. I sit in my comfiest chair and just relax. I’ll read or watch tv with Jeff, but I can’t really do much more. It’s a great way to make myself be still.

I also love a cup of hot tea when I am chilly. I have been drinking this tea since Kerry gave it as a favorite thing a few years ago. It’s caffeine free but the citrus really wakes me up.

I am most comfortable in my pjs. We are definitely a pj family! I think my whole family would put pjs on as soon as we walked in the door from school if it was possible. I keep thinking I need to find some pjs that look like real clothes so I could wear them even more!

When I can’t wear my pjs, my most comfortable outfits are leggings and a long sweatshirt. I pick it over and over again. I think we are going to be back at school in a hybrid setting for the rest of the school year which means I’ll be relegating this comfy choice to the weekends and after school again.

I couldn’t write a post about comfy or cozy without mentioning books. Curling up with a good book or my kindle is one of my very favorite things! If I pair that with a snuggle, fleece blanket, and pjs, I am a very happy girl!

Winter is definitely our coziest and comfiest time of the year because I do not love cold weather. In the spring, summer, and fall we are outside way too much to be wearing pjs all day or wrapped up in fleece blankets.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a two post Tuesday! Be sure to come on back. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

My oldest son doesn’t love to snuggle so when he wants a hug, it’s extra special. And yes, nothing defines cozy like pjs, a blanket, and a good book.

Look at that blonde hair! My boys were blonde for a long time! I miss snuggling buy my boys were willing until they were about 12. I love your work slippers! I forgot to mention books, but that says cozy to me, too. Have a great day!

Hayden has always been a bigger snuggler than hadley, but I feel like the “nuggle” days may be over. I’m a big pj and slippers girl too. My favorite. Have a great week! (& so glad you joined the link up!)

Enjoy those snuggle days! They really do pass by quickly. It is quite rare that any of my boys want to snuggle anymore. I didn’t think of painting my nails! I love painting my nails. I do find it quite calming.

I’m a two blanket kinda person too– I get it!! I also love to paint my nails at night once the kids have gone to bed, and just like you said it forces me to be still. You can’t fold laundry with wet nails 🙂 Thanks for linking up with us today!
