Hello Monday – 1/4/21

Happy Monday! Happy 2021!! Happy New Year! We had a wonderful week and a half off and are heading right back into virtual school and work. We are welcoming 2021 with open arms and excited for what this year will hopefully have in store for us! I’m linking up with Tanya and the girls to share our break. Get comfy because there are a bunch of pictures!

This is my December 23rd outfit. I am most definitely running on caffeine and Christmas cheer on December 23rd!
We made our family’s traditional Christmas cookies. They are called sand tarts and they are crispy cookies that have a little sugar on top.
We had an outside Christmas Eve celebration with Jeff’s family. These two crack me up with their hot chocolate cups looking like they could be 25 drinking their morning coffee.
Jack had to do a performance for band class. I decided that he should put on a concert for family. Luke didn’t want to be left out or miss his first opportunity for a winter concert. It was great!
I love our Christmas Eve table. There are wrapped pajamas, ornaments, books, and nutcrackers on there.
Our annual family Christmas Eve picture. 😍
Since we had the camera and tripod set up, I got a real picture of Jeff and I.
It’s not Christmas morning without a pj picture on the top of the steps. They boys wanted to keep each other’s gifts in their rooms so they could open them first this year.
A Christmas morning family pajama picture is must do!
Ready to hang 10 buddy!
Surf’s up dude!
Jeff made the most delicious, potent Christmas morning drink. It’s peppermint vodka with Bailey’s Irish Cream and Hershey’s Syrup drizzled in the cup. Yum! Yum! Yum!
We went for a walk on Christmas to get my 30 minutes of intentional movement for the Fellow Flowers challenge. It started snowing on our walk!
Home and ready for another one of those tasty drinks.
Our Christmas puzzle – that sky was hard!!
The day after Christmas is best spent watching Hallmark drinking water or Diet Coke out of my new Hallmark mug!
Jack got this game for Christmas. It is a massive hit!! We all laugh so hard every time we play and we’ve played a bunch since Christmas!!
On Monday morning we hopped in the car for a 10 hour ride to meet my adorable, brand new niece Maggie!! She’s the sweetest early Christmas present!!
That 10 hour drive was so worth it when I got my hands on my sweet niece!!
Luke loved holding Maggie!!
Jack was pretty smitten with Maggie, too.
We decided not to stay at my sister’s house. A 10 day old baby + two energetic boys would be a lot to handle. We found the coolest resort – Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands – about ten minutes from her house. Our villa opened right out to the lake. The sunrise was GORGEOUS! We walked around the resort and spent some time burning off the energy from a 10 hour car ride the day before.
On Tuesday afternoon, the guys all played golf and the girls hung out with Maggie. You guys, she is so so cute!! It was all I could do to put her down ever.
My sister and I took Maggie out for her first walk. She loved it, until she didn’t.
Wednesday morning = more Maggie time ☺️
The resort had a really cool gingerbread display in the lobby.
There was a heated outdoor pool. It felt warm to start, but wasn’t quite warm enough to feel WARM. We swam for about 45 minutes before braving the windy walk back to the villa.
It was a chilly, but beautiful walk back to the villa with a breeze coming off the lake and wet hair.
Maggie loves to lay on her belly on your chest and I was so happy to oblige any moment I could. ❤️ We were heading home EARLY the next morning and I wanted to get enough snuggles to last a while.
We didn’t stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve because our day started at 5 am to get the ride going. I did wear my Cora’s Den 2020 earrings to say goodbye to the year that I had such big plans for that I ordered 2 pairs of 2020 earrings.
One last 2020 family selfie – we ended the year cuddled together which felt perfect after all the extra family time we got this year.
This year was supposed to be my world tour. I had big plans to travel, travel, travel. As we all know, that didn’t happen so I’m giving myself a world tour extension. I will get to all those destinations sooner or later. I promise! ✈️
Happy New Year!!
How cute is this top from Lilly? It is Nantucket themed. My mom got it for me for Christmas because we are so sure we are going to be able to travel again soon and Nantucket is on my short list of places I want to go.
Luke and I decided to go wire to wire on Sunday.
We stayed in our pjs ALL DAY LONG! It was a great decision!

I managed to read a good bit over the break and have already finished my first book of 2021. I highly recommend “This Time Next Year” by Sophie Cousens. It is a ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ read! Enjoy!

That just about sums up our break. We had a great time with lots of family fun. I am hoping we are ready to roll today as we face a five day week! I have a good week planned on the blog with books, books, and fun! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Your boys look so handsome in their red sweaters, and I loved seeing your Christmas pictures. Oh my, that baby is so sweet! How fun to have a new baby in the family. I’m tucking away that resort for future reference since it would make a great getaway when we visit Grace in Atlanta! Thanks for linking up!
