Friday Favorites – 12/18/20

Happy Friday! Can you believe that one week from today will be Christmas morning? It hit me last night and I’m getting really excited! We’ve had a fun week and I’m sharing our favorites.

Linking up with Andrea and Erika

Favorite 1: SNOW!! If you’ve been here for any amount of time, you know I am a summer girl. I love the sunshine, the warm weather, and everything we can do outside. That being said, I do love the snow as it is falling. It’s so peaceful and beautiful! We didn’t have any true snow days because we are virtual right now, but the kids did get out a ton to play. Teachers were flexible and the school work was fun. It made for two pretty good school snow days. The snow had an icy layer on top so it made for great sledding on Thursday.

Favorite 2: BOOKS! I finished Christmas Ever After by Karen Schaler and I loved how it built on her Christmas Camp books. I still have a few more Christmas books lined up to read in the next week. Hopefully I’ll be able to carve out some good reading time.

Favorite 3: CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS!! Santa came through on the fire truck this week! This is one of my favorite parts of living in our town. The first year we lived here, I remember Jack being so excited yelling, “Now Santa really knows where I live!!” All the kids in the neighborhood come out and run up and down the streets chasing Santa’s truck and meeting him at the intersections.

We also went to the drive-thru Nativity at the church where the boys went to preschool. It is one of my favorite nights. They never change the script of the set up and that’s what makes it so great. We all look forward to it every year!

Favorite 4: HAIR!! I decided that my hair was getting a little long and scheduled a haircut before Christmas. As the day got closer, I was really ready for a change. I pulled out a picture from 2012/2013 and got this wild mane chopped. When I get a haircut, I always ask my stylist to blow it straight. It’s a nice treat because I am terrible at it.

Favorite 5: GAMES!! We got this game as a gift from one of our dear friends and it is so much fun!! The game is called Beat That and it is comprised of a bunch of different challenges to do solo, in teams, and as a whole group. We laughed so hard playing the other night!

Favorite 6: T-SHIRTS! I love the longsleeve Simply Southern holiday t-shirts. They are so festive and cozy. I wore my snow one on Wednesday and this fun tie dye one on Thursday! They are the perfect length and fit to wear with a tank underneath and leggings.

This week on Sunshine & Books:

We have some more Christmas fun planned for this weekend. I am hoping to get some more wrapping done too. I am still waiting on a few packages from USPS and UPS but for the most part everything has been delivered. I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of sunshine and Christmas books!
