Friday Favorites – 12/11/20

Happy Friday! I woke up every morning this week thinking it was one day later than it was. It was not fun when I realized it over and over again. Needless to say, I am so happy to really see Friday today! I am sharing my favorites from the week that keeps on going.

Linking up with Andrea and Erika

Favorite 1: BOOKS!! I read 2 books this week and I really liked both of them! I finished reading In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren and it was so good! I also read Blades of Freedom by Nathan Hale after one of Jack’s friends dropped it off for me to read. It was really good too. I love how the Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales teach about historical events through graphic novels with a little bit of humor.

Favorite 2: SUNSHINE!! Even though it has been so chilly, we headed out for a midday walk this week. Luke and I thought the wind made it cold, cold, cold. Jack had a different opinion.

Favorite 3: CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!! We went to a light display on Tuesday evening with my dad. It is called Sailing into the Winter Solstice and local organizations decorate boats. You can vote for your favorite boat for a dollar and it all raises money for charity. We purposely picked a Tuesday night because I thought it wouldn’t be crowded. I was right! It was perfect!

Favorite 4: EXERCISE!! This time of year I am certain to get 30 minutes of intentional movement every single day. Jeff and I also compete on our apple watches every week so there’s that motivation to keep moving too.

Favorite 5: CHRISTMAS CLOTHES! I picked this top up on a whim on the Target app a few weeks ago. I almost returned it but I am so glad I didn’t. It is so soft and cozy and perfect for working form home. My mom got these fun earrings for my sister and I a few years ago and they are just perfect for virtual teaching.

Favorite 6: TEACHING!! I love being an elementary school media specialist! 2020’s hybrid and virtual teaching have stretched me to do do the best I can with what we have. I wanted to read this book on CD because the music that goes along with the book is so fun. We don’t have any CD players in the house or on our computers, so I headed out to the car. It was a little dark, but it worked out just fine!

The kids have some sports this weekend and I’m hoping to get some wrapping done this weekend. The weather is supposed to be a little warmer and I am hoping that we can be outside a bunch! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and Christmas books!

I love that you made it work in your car! The boat parade sounds so fun! I know you inspire the kids to read with your festive clothes and positive outlook. We will take so much back with this experience,
