Show Us Your Books – 12/8/20

Happy Tuesday! I have two bookish posts for you today! I’m sharing the books I’ve been reading here and I have a Tuesday Book Release Day post to share a new book that just came out today. Here’s what I’ve been reading.

Linking up with Steph and Jana

Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

This was the 6th in a series so I was worried that I would struggle to follow along. I didn’t! It was a cute book and just what I was looking for in a Christmas book this year! **Free copy in exchange for my opinion from NetGalley.**

Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan
☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

I was so excited to read this book and it didn’t let me down. I love Polly and her puffin Neil. This is the third book in the Beach Street Bakery series and I cannot wait to read the fourth (coming soon). I really like how Jenny Colgan’s books are light and fun, but have enough real life to make them more believable.

Christmas Under the Stars by Karen Swan ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

This book was the November book club pick for a Jenny Colgan facebook group I am in. I was really looking forward to it after reading the book club pick for October (Calling Mrs. Christmas). It was ok. The book takes place in Banff, Canada and I have definitely added Banff to my travel bucket list after this book. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL!! I was a little disappointed that the book really had nothing to do with Christmas and part of it seemed a little unbelievable.

Jingle All The Way by Debbie Macomber ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

This was everything I expect from a Debbie Macomber novel. It was light and fun with a little romance. I really enjoyed this book. found this recipe for the famous Grandma Ruth’s fudge from the book in a Debbie Macomber and Brenda Novak Christmas book Facebook group. Enjoy! **Free copy in exchange for my opinion from NetGalley.**

Blades of Freedom by Nathan Hale ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

I talked about this book a few weeks ago in my Tuesday Book Release Day post. I was telling one of Jack’s buddies about the book and then I had a surprise book delivery last week. His friend read it and thought I would like to read it, too. When a kid recommends, and delivers, a book, I make sure to read it! This book was great! I love how Nathan Hale explains world history in small stories and through graphic novels. It makes everything so accessible to readers!

Currently Reading: In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

I usually don’t share what I am currently reading on Show Us Your Books. I wanted to share it since it is a Christmas book. The book got started a little slow for me, but it has picked up and I can’t wait to see what happens. It is a bit of a Groundhog Day story set in Lake Tahoe over Christmas. The characters are all a friends/family group that have been making this trip for years. I am hoping to finish it in the next day or so and already recommend it!

That’s what I’ve been reading lately. I plan on reading nothing but Christmas books through the end of the year. I can’t wait to hear what everyone has been reading! Have a great day full of sunshine and CHRISTMAS books!
