What’s Up Wednesday – 8/26/20

Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe it is the end of August. It feels like time is moving so slow and then all of the sudden, it’s almost September. I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share What’s Up like I always do on the last Wednesday of the month.

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…

Sunday – pizza
Monday – tacos
Tuesday – carry out at the beach
Wednesday – carry out at the beach
Thursday – I have no idea
Friday – something on the grill
Saturday – I have no idea

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT..

I am reminiscing about all the first day of school pictures! The boys are growing up so fast! That saying “the days are long but the years are short” is sticking around because it is so so true!!

WHAT I’M LOVING…

I have been loving the cooler mornings we had last week. I wore a quarter zip a few days and it felt so good!

We are back at the beach for a few days and I am loving that!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…

The boys went to golf camp last week and they loved it!

Aside from that our month has been a whole lot of this:

And this:

With a little bit of this thrown in, too:

WHAT I’M DREADING…

I am dreading all the sitting that I will be doing next week. I am excited to go back to work and see my colleagues in virtual meetings, but it will be a little more inside sitting than I am used to or looking forward to.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…

I’ve been working on school work. Last week when the kids were in camp, I worked a ton! I took webinars to learn about add-ons and tools to help me become a better virtual teacher and virtual colleague.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…

I’ve been reading a bunch. Check it out here and here.

I’ve been watching Bravo and Hulu lately. I’m catching up with the housewives from New York and Beverly Hills.

I’m also watching Frasier, Doogie Howser, M.D., and my girls as I fall asleep at night.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…

The boys and I are listening to The One and Only Ivan as we drive around. That’s really all I’ve been listening to. Well, that and “MOOOOM” 😉

WHAT I’M WEARING…

I’ve been wearing a lot of bathing suits, cover ups, and workout clothes.

I’ve really been wearing my new sneakers because they make my foot feel so much better. I even wore them with a romper this week. I definitely picked comfort over fashion.

On a side note, the condo we are staying in has a wall of mirrors. They are great for taking those full length pictures and seeing what everyone in the room is doing at any time. 😂

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…

Luke is playing in a soccer tournament and only one parent is allowed to go. A friend asked if a few of the moms and big brothers want to go to the beach since the big brothers and one parent can’t go cheer the little brothers on. So, I’ll be back at the beach squeezing every last second out of summer.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…

I am looking forward to school starting. I know that there will be bumps in the road, but we are ready for more of a schedule than go to the pool and come home. I am looking forward to seeing all the sweet faces I haven’t seen in months looking a little bit bigger.

I am looking forward to Jack starting middle school even though I’m not sure how that is possible! Sweet kindergarten buddy!

We’ve had a fun month full of sun, friends (in our bubble), and fun! I am hoping the fun can continue during September as we add virtual school in. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Oh, I LOVE that picture of you reading at the beach 🙂 And thank you for the reminder to watch The One and Only Ivan. Another friend posted about how good it was.

OH yes, you can never go wrong with one last trip to the beach!! Enjoy your weekend. I read The One and Only Ivan this month and just watched the movie this week. I loved them both.

See, I need to take your lead and take my work day or even part of a work day outside. Good for you for stealing a few more days at the beach.

Wishing you all good health as you start school. You have the Best attitude about all of this.
