Hello Monday – 6/15/20

Happy Monday! It is the first official weekday of no school for me and I am excited! I’m linking up with the Hello Monday girls to share our weekend.

On Friday, I had a meeting and some work to do, but it was the last teacher day!

We went to the pool for most of the day and ended up back at our friends’ party patio. It was warm and sunny all day and the kids stayed up late. It felt like the real start to summer!

On Saturday, Jeff took Jack to get a new bike. He’s had his for 4 years so we decided to give him a new, big kid bike. I had no idea it would be so challenging to find. From what we learned, a bunch of bike shops shut down for a while and everyone started buying bikes when the Stay at Home orders started. They finally found one, but we had to wait until Sunday to pick it up because it was in a box in pieces.

After their bike adventure, Jeff and Jack met us at the pool. We stayed for a while and it was a perfect pool day!

That evening we got together with our beach friends families to celebrate the big boys heading to middle school and kick off summer. It was so much fun!!

I love these fun, sparkly earrings from Cora’s Den! 😍

We woke up on Sunday to a chilly day! It was Flag Day so I broke out my Stars and Stripes!

Jack had baseball practice in the morning and then we all went to pick up his new bike. The bike shop where they found the bike was right up the street from my parents house so Jack wanted to ride his bike there right away.

After his quick bike ride, we came home and spent the day here. The kids rode bikes all afternoon. Jeff and I went for a walk. I finished my book. It was a lovely, low key afternoon!

I made taco boats for dinner and it was super easy. I found taco shells shaped like boats in the grocery store this week. The kids loved them and they were super easy. Shredded chicken and cheese baked in the oven then I added tomatoes and peppers on top.

We sent the kids to bed early and I started my next book, Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner. Everyone should wake up today ready for a great summer week!

I hope your day is full of sunshine and books!

What a great weekend. I just heard on the news that there is actually a shortage of bikes right now because everyone bought one during the shut down. Who knew? Hope you have a good week!

Congrats on the end of the school year. We are having a challenge finding Hockey Guy a bike right now too! He needs a road bike for kid’s triathalons.

    Happy Sunner
