Monthly Musings – 5/38/20

Happy Thursday! I am linking up with Holly and Patty to talk about fun summer foods! The weather has been feeling extra summery and I am ready for grilling, steamed crabs, poolside dinners, and icy treats.

1 – Favorite Summer Dish – steamed crabs and corn on the cob

2 – Favorite Cookout Side Dishes – deviled eggs, pasta salad, my grandmother’s recipe for cucumbers and onions

3 – Eating al Fresco – YES! I always choose eating outside at a restaurant, on the deck, or poolside in the summer!

4 – What Foods Do You Eat in the Summer More – watermelon and cantaloupe, chicken salad, fresh tomatoes and peppers from our garden, and dips!

5 – Share Your Favorite Summer Recipe – I think my favorite summer recipe is corn dip. The green onions add a great kick and Fritos are so yummy with it. It is a delicious cold dip that tastes delicious by the pool, on the beach, or on the deck!

6 – Blueberry Pie or Strawberry Shortcake – Strawberry shortcake all the way. I don’t like blueberries at all.

7 – Favorite Summer Beverage – I love a mojito when it’s hot out! Another favorite summer drink is one I had in Vegas a few years ago. It was a pink lemonade frozen drink with citrus vodka, pink lemonade and a secret ingredient that I can’t quite figure out to replicate it.

8 – Ketchup? Mustard? Relish? Mayo? Ketchup all the way!

9 – Gas grill? Charcoal? Big Green Egg? We are gas grillers over here.

10 – Popsicle or Ice Cream? Ice cream for certain. We have a homemade ice cream shop in the town I grew up in that cannot be beat! Their mint chocolate chip is and will always be my favorite!

Have a great summery day full of sunshine and books!!

We have family that owns a homemade ice cream stand… it’s dangerous to get to eat for free. LOL.
