Happy Tuesday! It’s the second Tuesday of the month so that means it’s time to Show Us Your Books! I missed April’s post so there will be bunches of books here today!

Before we get to the books, I want to share something fun! Steph and Jana host this linkup, but they also host a Show Us Your Books weekend readathon a few times a year on Instagram. Kindly, they give out a books gift certificate to random participants and I won this time!! I was so excited!! I’m trying to decide if I will buy J. Courtney Sullivan’s new book, Friends and Strangers (out 6/30), or Mary Alice Monroe’s new book, On Ocean Boulevard (out 5/19). Thank you ladies!!

The books I am talking about today are books that I’ve read since the March post. However, I want to tell you about the books that I am getting ready to read, too. I published my Summer Beach Reads post last Tuesday and there are some really good ones on there!! My favorite authors have books on there and there are some new authors too! The Jetsetters by Amanda Eyre Ward ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This was a fun book with some heavier moments. It was a similar concept to The Floating Feldmans, but I liked this one so much better! This book is about a mom that enters a contest to go on a European cruise with her children. She is trying to rekindle her relationships with the kids and each one comes with their own set of struggles. I enjoyed it and would recommend The Jetsetters.

Head Over High Heels by Lila Monroe ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This book surprised me a little bit. The cover was a cute rom-com type cover and it drew me in. Well, I was a little surprised because the romance was not the rom-com I was expecting. It is definitely rated R. Laurel is an aspiring producer who needs to find the next big reality star to save her job. As she is going through rejected tapes, she finds Flint McKay. He is a classic good looking carpenter who can build just about anything. She treks across the country to his quaint town and tries to woo him. She successfully woos him for the reality show, and manages to fall in love with him too. It was originally published as Rugged Billionaire.

Always the Last to Know by Kristan Higgins ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This was my first Kristan Higgins book and it won’t be my last. If you’ve been here for very long, you know I love family stories. This is a great family story about keeping secrets. Barb and John Frost have been married for almost 50 years. They are both miserable in the marriage and ready to confront each other to end it, when John is in a terrible biking accident. The family must come together to help John and they each end up revealing their secrets along the way. (Summer Beach Read List)

You Are Not Alone by Sarah Pekkanan & Greer Hendricks ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This is the third Sarah & Greer thriller. I don’t want to reveal too much but I will say that there are some twisted characters in this book. Shay Miller witnesses someone committing suicide on the NYC subway platform and the path that launches her on is wild! This book has good suspense but it didn’t give me nightmares.

It Started With a Secret by Jill Mansell ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This is another fun book! It is set mainly in England. A wealthy, unconventional family is searching for a couple to help run their home. Lainey and her friend Kit pretend to be a couple because they need a job. Seth, the grandson of the family patriarch, starts to question them as he’s falling for Lainey and discovering that Kit might be gay. It is a lovely summer read that made me smile the whole way through! (Summer Beach Read List)

500 Miles From You by Jenny Colgan ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
Oh, I was so excited to read this book!! It is set in the same village as The Bookshop on the Corner and The Bookshop on the Shore. I gave them 4 sunshines, but this one is a 5. I loved that we got to revisit Nina and Zoe and all the other characters from the village. Series are my favorites and this one is right up there at the top! Pre-order the book and thank me later!

The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
Oh I LOVED this book! I got an ARC from NetGalley and from my local bookstore. I immediately gave the paper copy to my mom and told her to get reading. Bill Sweeney is a famous author and who passes away leaving his three daughters to learn as much as they can about their father by going through his work, office, and home. They uncover so many secrets, including their late father’s unpublished memoir with some doozies. It is another great family story and I highly recommend it!

Beach Read by Emily Henry ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
This book was a bit of a surprise for me. I was expecting a funny “beach read” type book, but that wasn’t all. Two authors who have a history that goes back into college end up living next door to each other in a coastal Michigan town. They reacquaint themselves with each other and make a bet that involves them writing a book in the other’s genre. As they teach each other about their genres – romance and deep literary fiction, they learn uncover so much about themselves and each other. Great book! (Summer Beach Read List)

The Lost and Found Bookshop by Susan Wiggs ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
I read my first Susan Wiggs book in October and was so excited to see this one coming out. Another family story, but set in a bookstore. Main character Natalie’s mother is killed in a tragic helicopter accident leaving Natalie to take care of her mother’s bookstore and her aging grandfather. This is the life Natalie has been working so hard to avoid, but she keeps finding herself drawn back to San Francisco, the bookstore, and the historical building that holds her family’s history. In this wonderful story about family, books, and doing what your heart tells you to, Natalie solves her family’s mystery and her happily ever after.

The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane by Kelly Harms ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
I picked this book for two reasons. 1-It was a daily deal on Amazon. 2-I loved The Overdue Life of Amy Byler and this is another Kelly Harms book. When the Home Sweet Home Network announces that Jeanine Brown from Iowa has won their dream house, two women head across the country to Maine to claim their house. Jeanine “Nean” Brown has never had one moment of good luck in her life and is positive that this is the moment her life will turn around. Jeanine “Janey” Brown’s great Aunt Midge entered her name in the contest so that she could have an endless pool and a new adventure. They find different ways to get to know the locals and figure out how they are going to share this house that is rightfully Janey’s. It is a story of friendship, new beginnings, laughs, and love. Enjoy!
