Friday Favorites – 5/1/20

Happy Friday! Happy May Day!!! I am so excited for May!

It usually means the sun shines a little more! The days are getting noticeably longer! It’s warming up! And now that we are staying home all the time, we will be able to spend even more time than usual outside enjoying that weather! I am linking up with Andrea and Erika to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1 – SMORES!! We broke out our indoor s’mores maker yesterday. It was rainy and super windy all day so s’mores were the perfect cozy treat.

Favorite 2 – WALKS!! I haven’t run since April 14th but I am really enjoying all my walks! I usually take 3 walks each day. I take one solo walk to start my day (about 2 miles). Jeff joins me midday for another walk (2-3 miles). Then we end our evening with a short family walk where the kids ride bikes or dribble their basketballs (about 1 mile). I’m listening to podcasts by myself and having great conversations with my walking partners.

Favorite 3 – SUMMER BOOKS!! This time of year is my absolute favorite for books! My favorite authors’ books are being published for the next 2 months and it is glorious!! This week Kristy Woodson Harvey and new to me Lian Dolan. Next Tuesday, Mary Kay Andrews! After that Mary Alice Monroe, Nancy Thayer, Elin Hilderbrand, Jamie Brenner, and Beatriz Williams. I am definitely missing books from Dorothea Benton Frank 😢 and Wendy Wax this summer. I am going to try Jennifer Weiner’s book this year, too. I call them my “Girls of Summer” and I love their books! Be sure to come back one day next week for my Summer Beach Reads post! ❤️

COMING NEXT WEEK!!!

Favorite 4 – DAY IN THE LIFE!! I shared our day on Tuesday on my Instagram stories. It feels like a lot to remember on those days, but I am always so glad that I did it. It’s nice to have a record of what our days are like.

Favorite 5 – STARS!! How cute is this quarter zip? It’s from Amazon and so comfy! I’m debating picking up the yellow or coral one. I’d say it is pretty true to size and I got a medium.

Favorite 6 – SUNSHINE!! I’m not sure how sunshine made it all the way down the list to number 6!?! We had the most beautiful day on Wednesday! It was warm and the sun was shining. It was warm enough to “break out my whites”. That’s what my friend and I call it when we start wearing shorts before we get a little sunshine (real or fake) on our legs. 😂

Luke had to draw a food truck for art and I couldn’t fathom being inside for one more minute!

The forecast for today and this weekend looks magnificent! We may even have an early dismissal day today so everyone can get outside and soak up as much vitamin D as possible! I am hoping I feel motivated to sand and paint our deck furniture since the weather will be practically perfect. We’ll see. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I am so jealous of all your walks! We try to get out whenever we have decent weather but there is no way I could squeeze in three walks a day. I am loving the idea of all those summer books!!

CANNOT WAIT FOR Kristy Woodson Harvey’s new book and I’m behind on my MK Andrews so I’m reading Sunset Beach right now. Yes May is the Christmas of my reading too! I wish you a wonderful Sunday!

Your walks sound wonderful! I have found that getting in run time is much harder under quarantine. You’d think it’d be the opposite. It wasn’t too long ago I started listening to books while I run. That’s been a life saver. Music gets old.

Stopping by from Friday Favorites. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
