Happy Friday! I am linking up with Narci and the girls for Friday Favorites. Here are some of my favorites from the week.
Favorite 1: SUNSHINE!! When the sun is shining our days go so well!! We can all spend a bunch of time outside and sunshine = happiness at our house. We all love to have some sunshine on our cheeks. On Wednesday, my boys did their weekly art assignment on the sidewalk with chalk. We quickly added some health with a healthy foods drawing competition. I spent some time reading in a beach chair on our driveway basking in the sunshine.
Favorite 2: BOOKS! I just finished 500 Miles from You by Jenny Colgan. It comes out in June, but it was so good! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ for sure! It is set in the same village as The Bookshop on the Corner and The Bookshop on the Shore. I gave them 4 sunshines, but this one is a 5. I loved that we got to revisit Nina and Zoe and all the other characters from the village. Series are my favorites and this one is right up there at the top! Pre-order the book and thank me later! 😉 **Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review**
I also read You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanan. This is their third thriller and I thought it was great. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ from me. I enjoy reading suspense books but man do they mess with my sleeping. I found myself up at 3 am one night and just finished the book so I could start sleeping again. I do not know how Greer and Sarah can come up with such twisted, creepy topics! They seem so sweet and lovely every time I meet them! This book was a good suspenseful read, but not too scary. **Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review**
Favorite 3: Running!! I am nearing the end of my run streak and trying to figure out what my exercise routine is going to look like. Tuesday, April 14th will be Day 1200 and the last day in my streak. I may take a whole week off, but we’ll see. I am really loving running outside during our time at home, but I know I need to stop. A few parts of my hip/leg/foot are constantly achy and are asking for a rest, so a rest they will get. I’m still going to keep walking and moving, but I’ll take a break from the running. My neighborhood is districted to the school where I walk so I am loving seeing a bunch of kids from school playing in their yards when I am out running and walking.
Favorite 4: SCHOOL WITH MY GUYS!! Even though we are home, I am still teaching my kids. We sit down at the dining room table every morning and work through their assignments. I picked up pack of blue light blocking glasses after staring at my screen for a few days. All 3 of us tried them out yesterday to get our work done.
Favorite 5: NEW PHONE CASES!! I picked up a few new phone cases from Casely this week. They shipped SUPER FAST and I had a buy one get one free code. I am super excited about the fun designs!
Favorite 6: SPRING BREAK!! We are officially on Spring Break for the next 4 days. With the exception of one or two years, our county has only had Good Friday and Easter Monday off for Spring Break since I was in kindergarten. These two days feel like such a gift. We finished up our first 2 weeks of online learning yesterday. The boys and I are looking forward to a few days of not sitting in front of a screen. Our teachers are doing a FABULOUS job of making it fun and engaging, without making the work too overwhelming, but it is still a lot more time in front of a computer than any of us are used to.
Favorite 7: CREEK! We found a new creek in our neighborhood last weekend and spent a few hours splashing in the water, going back and forth across it, and looking for animals. The kids had a great time and I know we will be back to visit it soon!
Favorite 8: JEFF!! Jeff has been doing his home schooling with the boys too. He is teaching them about great events/athletes from the boys’ time. They’ve started making connections between events and time periods which is pretty cool. Jeff is also running Jeff’s Agility and Conditioning clinics every afternoon. We are noticing that the boys are much happier/more pleasant after the clinic and that is a favorite!
Favorite 9: EASTER!! We are getting ready for Easter and figuring out ways to safely keep some of our traditions. I love my bunny necklace from Cora’s Den on Etsy! It was a perfect addition for when I had to go to work for a few hours this week. Happy Easter everyone!
Favorite 10: YOU!! I reached 100 followers this week. Thank you! Thank you ! Thank you! I love using this blog to keep track of what’s been going on, and to have other people reading it makes me so happy! Thank you for reading and enjoy!
Have a wonderful Easter! Even though it will look very different than usual, I hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
