Friday Favorites – 3/13/20

Happy Friday!! We had quite a Thursday afternoon/evening around here. Our governor announced around 4 o’clock that all public schools will be closed from Monday 3/16 – Friday 3/27. I know that it is the best thing to do to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus but I’m still wrapping my head around it. 16 full days of blank squares on our calendar because school is cancelled, sports are cancelled, and all other extra curricular activities are cancelled. All four of us are going to be home together. I’m hoping we stay healthy, it is very sunny so we can play outside, and everyone keeps their positive attitudes!

Happy campers from last year at The Players! Here’s hoping we look just this happy in 2 weeks!

I am linking up with Narci and the girls for Friday Favorites!

Favorite 1: BOOKS!! I didn’t think I read very much this month but when I went to recap for Show Us Your Books on Tuesday, I was surprised. I read four adult books and one kids book this month. I am hoping to read five this month with our #coronacation added in.

Favorite 2: WEDDING!! I am getting so excited for my sister’s wedding next month. We had so much fun celebrating Annie last month and I am really looking forward to more fun next month. My dress came this week and it is beautiful! The boys’ suits should be here next month. We’ve been practicing their reading and they are going to do such a wonderful job. I need to start working on my toast for the rehearsal dinner, but I think I’ll have some time in the next two weeks. I do need to find a fun, slightly casual (think Lilly) dress for the rehearsal dinner and outfits for all 3 guys that fit into the family color scheme so our pictures look great!

Favorite 3: SUNSHINE!! We have been spending so much time outside in the evenings this week! It’s been so lovely. Jack’s baseball practices were moved outside this week and I got a run in outside. All the warm sunshine on Monday had me thinking about the pool, so I went over to check on it. All looks good and I can’t wait to see my favorite view in town in just 71 days!

Favorite 4: RUNNING!! Jamie and I ran on Sunday for International Women’s Day and it was a favorite. The sun was shining and we did our best to solve all the world’s problems.

Favorite 5: AUTHORS!! We had an author illustrator duo at school one evening this week and they were fabulous!! Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr wrote and illustrated The Real McCoys series. There are 3 books in the series now and my boys are loving them! The kids at school are loving them too!

Favorite 6: KIDS!! I wore this cute shirt dress to school on Thursday and one my second graders asked if I was wearing my robe to school! 😂 I get it, there is a tie belt, but come on, Mrs. Parsons in a robe?!? I couldn’t stop laughing!

Luke has been extra snuggly lately and he even fell asleep on my belly last night. Look at that sweet face! 😍

Favorite 7: LAST WEEKEND!! After two very fun weekends away, I was home all weekend! I spent so much time with the boys and hanging out at home. It was lovely! We watched Luke play soccer. I watched Jeff coach Jack in basketball. Jeff and I went to a bull roast. I slept in. It was a great weekend!

That’s all for the week! I hope everyone has a safe, fun weekend full of sunshine and books! We’ll be staying home, reading, and relaxing together.

Love your positive spin on being stuck in- at least you can get outside with sunshine- yes! You know what I was thinking this week? You should change the name of the blog to Sunshine, Books and Running!? Ha! Seriously… you are always an inspiration to me 🙂

Yes we’ve been hearing about schools closing. Ours is still open but not sure for how much longer. I am actually a bit worried that they haven’t gotten the memo yet to close down. Anyway, I like your positive spin on it and will do the same and think of ways to spend the time together without pulling any body’s hair out! I haven’t been reading as much this month so I need to make time for it this weekend. Wish me luck! I love your denim shirt dress. Such a classic piece and you look great in it. Happy Friday and wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend ahead.
