February Goals – 2/10/20

Happy Monday! I am sharing my goals for the month and any progress I made on last month’s goals. I have a few holdovers and a few new goals to add this month.

January Goal Updates:

☀️Eat from our freezer/pantry. The freezer is so full right now that opening it requires quick reflexes because anything could fall out at any moment. I did pretty well with this one, but I’m still working on it.

☀️ Update Christmas card addresses Nope, didn’t even attempt it.

☀️ Write book reviews for Sunshine and Books, NetGalley, and Goodreads. Nope, didn’t even attempt.

☀️ Plan Annie’s bachelorette party!! We are headed to Asheville, NC if anyone has any fun ideas, please share them in the comments!! YES!! I am looking forward to a great weekend!!

☀️ Start my things to do before I turn 40 list. My birthday is in September and I have some big trips to celebrate this year, but I would like to start creating a list of things to do before I turn 40. Yes! I started my list, but I am still adding more.

☀️ Get my hamstring under control. My hip and hamstring have really been bothering me lately and I need to figure this out. I am hoping it doesn’t mean I have to take a break from running, but I am willing to take it super easy for a bit. Yes!! I am still running slowly and not as long, but I am feeling better!!

☀️ Read 5 books. Yes!! I need to review them though.

☀️ Exercise before school. I did exercise most days before school, but not all. I still need to get to bed earlier.

☀️Keep eating from our freezer/pantry. The freezer is so full right now that opening it requires quick reflexes because anything could fall out at any moment.
Strategies: meal plan, inventory the freezer, reimplement the “we don’t get anything in a category until it is all gone” rule, set a morning alarm to take food out of the freezer

☀️ Make a monthly meal plan instead of weekly to add a little more variety and use up the leftovers.
Strategies: print a monthly calendar with practices, etc., use the cookbooks I have or get rid of them, have everyone (Jeff, Jack, Luke) help pick the meals

☀️ Update Christmas card addresses
Strategies: just do it!, use my sister’s wedding address spreadsheet, sit down and do it!

☀️ Write book reviews for Sunshine and Books, NetGalley, and Goodreads.
Strategies: write christmas book reviews this month, write reviews within 2 days of finishing books on drafts of scheduled posts

☀️ Spend more purposeful time with my boys during the week. I will be away the last two weekends of February so I want to make the most of my during the week time.
Strategies: play with them in the 3-4 pm hour after school, read
with both boys each night, less phone scrolling while the boys are awake.

☀️ Meet the Merritt Group Fitness Challenge by taking 4 classes in each of the 3 group fitness studios.
Strategies: map out the classes and schedule them in my planner, convince friends to join me for
cycling so I actually go, track it in my notebook for a visual reminder

Have a great Monday full of sunshine and books! I’ll be back tomorrow for Show Us Your Books. I’m reviewing three books I loved and one that was ok.

Linking up with Tanya and the girls for Hello Monday.

Asheville is wonderful! There is an AMAZING bookstore there called Battery Park Book Exchange…it’s a combination used bookstore/champagne bar, and it is THE BEST! Also highly recommend Tupelo Honey for brunch, and if any of your group are beer drinkers, Burial Brewing, Wicked Weed, and the Wicked Weed Funkatorium are awesome breweries! Also, the Dolly Parton mural in West Asheville is a great spot for a picture! (Can you tell I go to Asheville all the time, haha).

These are great goals! I really need to get back to exercising in the morning; I fell out of habit when the boys were sick and have picked it back up yet but I felt so much better with even just a 20 or so minutes workout.
