I finished The Overdue Life of Amy Byler by Kelly Harms and I loved it! I actually took pictures of some of the quotes in the book to remember the wisdom that Kelly Harms shared with me. It was a little long, but I highly recommend this book. Amy Byler is a school librarian who goes to a conference in NYC to visit a friend while her estranged husband is back to spend time with the kids after years. Her friend decides to write a magazine feature on her and the #momspringa that Amy is doing. Momspringa is a break for moms in the thick of things where she gets to focus on herself and what she wants to do with her life. Though it was a little unrealistic it definitely got a 5 sunshine rating from me. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

After I finished Amy Byler, I started on a big Christmas book binge. 5 Christmas books later, I am still going strong.

Christmas book 1 – Let It Snow by Nancy Thayer
I loved it! It was everything I want in a winter book – quaint town, happy love story, friendship, and a little snow. It was the perfect book to kick off my holiday reading season! Reading Nancy and Elin Hilderbrand has made me fall in love with summer Nantucket. This book makes me want to visit at Christmas time too! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️☀️

Christmas book 2 – Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Becky is back and just as fun as ever! I read all the books in the Shopaholic series and this one did not disappoint. I laughed out loud thinking about Becky preparing her first Christmas dinner, her parents and their wacky new hobbies, and her rockstar ex-boyfriend moving into her small town. Sophie left the ending of the book open to another one in the series and I can’t wait to read it. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ (Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review)

Christmas book 3 – Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm by Jaimie Admans
If you are looking for a book that reads like a Hallmark movie, this is your book! Hungover Leah wakes up to find that she purchased a Christmas tree farm in Scotland in an auction the night before. Determined to honor her parents and forget her mess of a life in London, she drives over 600 miles to find her prized farm. Things are not as they looked in the pictures, but Leah has given up everything to do this. It was a lovely Christmas book and I enjoyed it. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ (Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review)

Christmas book 4 – Noel Street by Richard Paul Evans
This story is set in the 1970s and is the story of a widowed mother and her young son in Misteltoe, Utah. Elle is struggling to make ends meet when she meets William, a Vietnam POW that has just come to town. They grow closer, both working through how their past will affect their futures. This book is heartwarming and a bit predictable. The short chapters and interesting storylines made it a really quick read for me. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️
I have a few other of Evans’ books to read (The Misteltoe books) that inspired Hallmark movies. I can’t wait to compare them to the movies.

Christmas book 5 – A Mrs. Miracle Christmas by Debbie Macomber
I read quite a few of Debbie’s Christmas books last year and love how light, easy, and uplifting they are. This book is a part of the Mrs. Miracle series, but you don’t have to read them in order. In fact, this is the first book I’ve read in that series. Laurel and Zach have done just about everything they can to have a baby and are ready to give up. Laurel’s grandmother is aging quickly and needs a companion with her during the day. Mrs. Miracle shows up on their doorstep at just the right time. She’s an angel but Laurel and Greg haven’t figured that out yet. Helen and Mrs. Miracle, along with a few angel friends, encourage Laurel and Greg in some unlikely ways to not give up on their dream. This was a lovely and quick read about keeping the faith, especially during Christmas. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

I am currently reading Christmas book 6 – 25 Days ’til Christmas by Poppy Alexander. Check back on Friday for my favorites to see what I think. I am pretty sure I’ll have it finished by then.
