Favorite Gifts to Give – 11/11/19

Happy Monday! I am linking up with Whitney to share my 10 favorite gifts to give for 10 on the 10th even though it’s the 11th.

I shared some of my favorite things to give at the Favorite Things parties I’ve been to. Party 1. Party 2. Party 3.

I love to give a Lilly gift. Lilly Pulitzer adds a great pop of color to any outfit and situation. Lilly is one of my favorites and I love to share her bright sunshiny fun with anyone I can!

Along the same lines as a Lilly gift, I love to give fun clothes to our kids. We give them jerseys or team specific gear that they really want but don’t need.

I love to give books to people. It is a hard gift to give because books are so personal and you can’t guarantee it will be a perfect fit. Books bring me so much joy that I am willing to take the risk to share that same joy with people I love. I decided that our family was going to adopt Jolabokaflod a few years ago and it is one of my favorite gift giving opportunities. Jolabokaflod is the Icelandic tradition of exchanging books and reading them on Christmas Eve.

I love to give monogrammed gifts. I think a monogram takes everything up a notch.

I love to give gifts that help take care of people. Most of my friends are busy moms and constantly making sure that bunches of people’s needs are being met. I love to give people gift certificates for a manicure or pedicure.

I love to give experiences. We try to take the boys to do fun things instead of gifts because we don’t need one more thing in our house. For Jack’s 10th birthday, we gave him a day. He got to pick what we did all day and he loved it. We ate lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and went to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum.

I love to give magazine subscriptions to kids. They encourage reading and they are disposable/recyclable. I’m not trying to add any extra things to my friends houses either.

I love to give open ended toys to kids. I love wooden blocks, legos, and art supplies are among my favorites.

I love to give games to families. We love old favorites like Clue, Racko, Guess Who, and Monopoly. We also love newer games like Heads Up, Staxis, Blink, Blokus, and Quirkle.

I love to give pictures to our parents. My sister and I got pictures taken for our parents’ anniversary and they loved it. A few years ago we did pictures with Jeff’s brother and sister for Christmas and they loved it. The pictures turned out so well and we got great pictures of our family, too.

I’d love to hear your favorite gifts to give in the comments.

Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Linking up with Tanya for Hello Monday.

We have that same National parks game and we love it! My kids used to get magazine subscriptions from my mother in law each year and they loved it.

All great ideas. I love the whole Jolabokaflod tradition and I would definitely do that if I ever have kids. I’m a big fan of gifting books too – especially to kids! I like experience gifts as well because people remember those more (usually) than physical presents.
