The Summer Guests by Mary Alice Monroe: I usually love Mary Alice Monroe books but this wasn’t one of my favorites. I think I love her books so much because you can feel her passion when she writes about the beach and the sea turtles. This book had some coastal elements (hurricane evacuation) but was focused on horses in the mountains. I am not a horse person and I am not a mountain person. I am a beach person who loves reading about the beach when I am not at the beach. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

Surfside Sisters by Nancy Thayer: I love Nancy Thayer books and I loved this one. I loved the way Nantucket was a major force in the book and it continued to make me want to go to Nantucket! I loved that Keely was an author who visited some of my favorite coastal bookstores on tour. A great summer beach read or a fun fall read to warm up when it gets chilly! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

The Islanders by Meg Mitchell Moore: This was my first book by Meg Mitchell Moore. Elin Hilderbrand featured her books on Instagram so I knew I had to pick one up. I loved this book! This book weaves together the lives of a small bakery owner, a blogger who’s about to make it big, and an author who hit rock bottom. They all have big secrets that unfold as their lives intertwine on this small island. Meg Mitchell Moore seems to love Block Island like Elin loves Nantucket. I loved her style of writing and can’t wait to read another book.☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center: I enjoyed this book about a firefighter that picks up and moves across the country to live with her estranged mother. I loved how tough she was and how her family and friends managed to break down her walls and get to know her again. It was a great easy read and I am looking forward to reading more of Center’s books. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams: I was excited for this book and thought it had great potential but I didn’t love it. A guys’ book club to help them romance the ladies in their lives sounds like it could be hilarious, but I had to force myself to keep reading it. I knew what was going to happen at the end, and that doesn’t usually bother me, but it did in this book. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

The Wedding Sisters by Jamie Brenner: This was a great book! I’ve already passed it on to my mom. My sister is engaged and all the wedding planning is so fun to be a part of, but 3 weddings at the same time while your life is falling apart would be quite the undertaking. The three Becker sisters get engaged within days of each other and their mother is tasked with planning all three weddings while taking care of her aging mother. Meryl Becker, the mother, handles the planning and everything that goes along with it with grace and seems unflappable. She is struggling though, with the changes in her family, marriage, work, and home life. Jamie Brenner is a great story teller especially when it comes to families. I love a wedding and some good family drama, so this was a perfect book for me!☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

The Book of Polly by Katherine Hepinstall: I have been waiting to read this book since it was recommended at a publisher’s book talk at my favorite local bookstore. It’s another family drama where the characters all have a secret or two that they are dealing with. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others. ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs: I picked this book up on the 7 Days shelf at the library. The title grabbed me because I loved The Friday Night Knitting Club and The School of Essential Ingredients. I thought this book was going to be similar to them and it was. I didn’t read anything about it, I just jumped right in. I really enjoyed the stories of friendship, family, and love. I thought it was a great book! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

Currently Reading: What Happens in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand
Every time I read an Elin book I want to go to Nantucket immediately. Now, I want to go to St. John AND Nantucket!! This is the second book in the Paradise winter trilogy and I’m excited to see what happens.
