Friday Favorites – 9/13/19

Happy Friday everyone!! I am so ready for this day and all the fun we have planned this weekend! I am linking up with Narci and the girls to share my favorites from the week!

Favorite 1: SUMMER!! Even though we are all back at school and all the fall sports have started, IT IS STILL SUMMER!! I love embracing all the summer fun, even when I’m working. It was hot, hot, hot here this week so we kept on summering! We swam, we had ice cream and summer dinners, we played outside a bunch, and we dressed in our school appropriate summer best (no bathing suits 😉).

Favorite 2: PLANNERS!! I love a paper planner so when Shay and Erika planned a Let’s Look link up about planners, I was all in!! I shared all 4 of the calendars that I use every day – Erin Condren life planner and teacher planner, dry erase, and page-a-day. It was so much fun to look at everyone’s planners and see how they organize their lives. I love the holiday planner covers and how I can swap them out so easily. I also love that they fit on the notebook I keep in my purse for all the lists! If you are interested in getting anything Erin Condren, you can use this link for $10 off your first purchase. (I also get a little reward for referring you.)

Favorite 3: MAIN STREET! I love our Main Street in downtown Sykesville! On Thursday afternoon, we headed to the bookstore and enjoyed some ice cream. The bookstore is obviously my favorite store downtown! We have some amazing authors coming to town thanks to A Likely Story – Jon Agee, Max Brallier, Chris Colfer, W. Bruce Cameron, Judy Schachner, Lisa Jewell, Angie Kim, and Tracy Chevalier to name a few. I can’t wait!! I picked up a few books that I want to read for school: Front Desk by Kelly Yang, The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl by Stacy McAnulty, and Sanity and Tallulah by Molly Brooks. Luke got 2 HiLo books by Judd Winick and Jack got a Who Was book about the Vietnam War. Then we headed up the street to get some ice cream because it’s still summer!! ☀️

Favorite 4: POOL!! We had our last social event of the season at the pool this summer. It was a tour of our town with tasty treats from 5 local restaurants. The weather was perfect and we had the best time!!

That’s it for this week! I’ve got my fingers crossed for today – Friday the 13th and a big full moon on Thursday night! That can make for a wildly fun day at school. 🤪 I’m getting ready to start a new book and can’t quite decide which book from my to read pile is next. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Oh yes, I love squeezing every last drop out of that summer weather! My youngest son is out right now birthday shopping at the bookstore with my mother in law. It’s the first time he ever requested that and it made me smile.
